* Mandate Public-paid Long Term Care, including Tax-paid Personal Care Attendants
* Eliminate the "Achievement Gap" by spending buckets of money more on failed schools -- eliminate these disparaties by providing "appropriate inclusive educational settings, and state of the art special education tools and support;" ...also "enhance the special education circuit breaker for cities and towns so that the 'sped' directors are no longer in a vise between the needs and rights of students and the limits of a local education budget (translation: tax all state residents for the cost of educating kids in Boston's sewer school system)
* Ensure Access to Job Opportunities -- i.e. strict quotas for jobs ... and ensure that the One-Stop Centers at the Department of Employment and Training are prepared to meet the training needs of people with disabilities (disabilities includes drug and alcohol abusers and child-molesters, er, 'people who adhere to an alternative lifestyle'
* Expand Eligibility to Health Insurance...cough... cough... a "broadened eligibility to the CommonHealth insurance program, which provides coverage for those who lose government benefits when taking a job, with a unique impact on people with disabilities"... "affordable premiums" by imposing punishing taxes upon evil employers
* Develop Affordable Housing Option... dramatically expand the range of housing options for people with disabilities, from home ownership, rental, congregate living and assisted living environments. We will also double the size of the Home Modifications Program and the Community Based Housing program to enable more people with disabilities, including children and seniors, to live in their own homes. (Pop quiz: guess who pays?)
* Enforce the ADA. Building on my experience as head of Civil Rights in the Clinton Administration, I will make compliance in state government with the Americans with Disabilities Act one of my highest priorities. We will have accessible public facilities and services, well-trained and prepared staff, and active outreach to and partnership with the disability community. I will also seek the service of persons with disabilities in my administration. As Governor I will not tolerate discrimination. (Translation: evryone who claims a disability will be able to run roughshod over employers, college admissions staff, landlords, and the taxpayers will foot the bill for the litigation)
Deval Patrick: From each according to their abilities; to each according to their needs
This from the same people who for forty years have given America the wretched Ted Kenendy. Something's in the water up there.
If he wins you can expect to see the economy tank, the real estate market to CRASH (not the slowdown that some posters here on FR keep pimping) from a whole lot of people fleeing the state and the state will lose congressional seats.
That remark was made by the head of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts (Johnson), but I don't expect facts to get in your way.
Ah, the party of the "label" strikes again.
Is it possible that for the 5th stright election since 1990, that MA will elect a GOP governor?
The last DEM gov of MA was Dukakis.
It's a little early to pull the race card. If Dangerous Deeval makes it a major campaign theme, it could prove to be a big mistake.
Deval Patrick is an empty suit. The more exposure he gets the worse he will do. I heard this morning that he has a 64-25 lead over Kerry Healy. < sigh>
It may be hard to impossible to overcome that big a lead.
Purge Massachuttes....cede the state to canada.
Sounds like he's on his way to throwing away a race he has in the bag.
I don't think we can win this barring the D self distructing. This is a good first step!
Will Healey pull a George Allen and apologize?
Or will she come out laughing and swinging like she should?
