WASHINGTON—U.S. Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell made the following statement Thursday regarding progress on the Bringing Terrorists to Justice Act: “The President was very clear that any legislation on terrorist detainees must ensure that our intelligence-gathering interrogation program can continue. As the President said, this valuable program has saved innocent American lives and is preventing future terrorist attacks. The legislation we will soon consider on the Senate floor meets the President’s criteria. This is a big win in the continuing war on terror.

The "try" part being meeting to see if McCain has had a reality check on the fact that he's a Senator going against the majority, and not he President making policy in time of war. Bush won't blink on this. He came out too strong the whole time since he put it to the Senate. It will be his way or the highway.

We looked at the Chevy Cobalt for Clint Jr's car.
The Super Charged model with all the bells and whistles was about 18K.
We almost considered it till we looked at the new Mustangs. So glad we kept looking.

I don't think the importance of this can be overstated. McCain tried to assert himself as having authority on this and he has been shamed on the national level and put back in his place. THIS IS AWESOME!!! :)

What happened it a HUGE victory for us! :) McCain was put in his placed and the bill that will be voted on and signed by Bush will be BUSH'S version, NOT McCains!!! :) Awesome huh??? This, and the border fence bill being voted today!!! This is shaping up to be a VERY important day!!!

I have been checking the news headlines on this--they have been downplaying the news calling it a 'compromise' and relegated to back of the page.
