>>There's a big, big difference between the "generic Democrat" in a poll, and a certified moonbat who is now the nominee.

Bingo!

And on top of that, there's a big difference between a "generic Republican/George Bush" in a push poll, and your local Republican Rep that you "know".

Yes - I know. The "spelling mistake" comment was a joke. And like most jokes - not very funny if it has to be explained.

Sorry I didn't get it. I try to be a little sharper than that. Not getting enough sleep. Appreciate your candor.

Democrats, their only concern is to return to power...

A quote of Lord Taylor of Warwick: "Leadership is about action, not just position."

Per this statement, the (Socialist) Democrats offer no true leadership. They want a place of power, and when they get it, their strategy involves popularity. They don't aim for doing "good", they aim solely to maintain their position. This means [1] they don't do anything that might offend even the evil (even to the point of employing desperate, security-threatening pacifism), and [2] they bend over backwards to maintain a large crowd of useful idiots that readily accept dependence on government. Take a look at the Democrats (Socialists) in Congress now. What solutions have they offered? What alternatives to (Presidential or Republican) proposed programs have they suggested? They only attack, attack, attack. See? [1] Don't offend (i.e., don't take a risk of offering solutions), and [2] do anything appeal to the entitlement crowd.

Too many Democrat "camp followers" earn their living from government - the longer the party is out of power, the longer they have to work at Starbucks while waiting for one of those treasured Junior Policy Analyst positions to open up in the next Democrat Administration. I think it was Dick Morris who made the point a while back that if the Democrats don't win elections, they don't eat. It's life or death for them. They don't have real jobs to return to like the rest of us.

So they have villainized Bush as the lone man standing in their way of their economic success, and that amplifies the irrational hatred they feel for him. They've now gotten so irrational about the issue that they are completely ignoring the enemy who wants to blow them up - they just need to get their hands back on the levers that dispense government money, no matter what.

I've worked inside several federal bureaucracies. Most "feds" in DC are liberals (one of the reasons the Washington Post continues to sell papers). By and large, they are paper pushers who rely on government spending programs for employment. Its a form of welfare for educated liberals who lack real job skills and motivation. The vast majority of feds that I've come in contact with over the years loathe and fear Republicans because they worry that they'll take the feeding dish away from them. By the way, federal employment benefits and salaries are incredibly generous (courtesy of your tax dollars).

Your comments were quite accurate.

But if Connecticut and NH CD1 are at all representative, the "generic Democrats" are falling to moonbattery - and there will not be a moonbat majority in the House anytime soon.

RINO, moonbat, generic democrat, generic republican, there is a moral in there somewhere.

Extremists from the left wing are falling out of favor, moderates from the right wing are also out of favor.

Are the voters moving toward the right or are the parties polarizing and leaving the center open to a new party ?

Here is the Nevada story. Bob Beers was the true conservative in the R Gov primary, Gibson the moderate but conservative - Gibson won as the country clubber. The left has nominated Dina Titus, a full blown commie professor at UNLV. Despite my misgivings, the first two Gibson commercials have just been conservative kneecappers to Titus, just absolute gold as far as buckling an opponent. The first labeled her Dina Taxes, just about branded her forehead with it. The second hit her in the nipples with being soft on illegal immigrants. I think Titus is going to be absolutely crushed, and Ensign is going to swab the poop deck with Jack Carter, Jimmy's weakling son. And I think maybe this kind of thing will be repeated elsewhere.

If the moonbats ever manage to finagle a majority in Congress, I believe that that might lead to an "R" word scenario (i.e., revolution). That goes for them capturing the WH. The moonbat left would quickly move to muzzle talk radio, to impose a radical social agenda, use the IRS to audit dissenting churches and individuals, and try to disarm the people. This would inevitably lead to some kind of "Waco" style incident that would bring out thousands of angry patriots that could spiral into a full-scale insurrection. The military and police would refuse to fire on their own citizens and the lefties would be swept from power in a coup.

Extremists from the left wing are falling out of favor, moderates from the right wing are also out of favor.

The problem is in the definitions:

Right-wing extremist - More conservative than me.
RINO - Less...
