I've heard some interesting interviews involving "moderate" Muslims.
When the questions become more pointed, they reveal some problematic mindsets.
Al Rantel of KABC in Los Angeles is a master at that.
I suspect I heard at least five or six "moderate" Muslim spokes-persons
on his show in the year or two after 9-11.
Rantel would let 'em steam along comfortably with 2-3 minutes of
softball questions.
As soon as a couple of clear, direct questions about Israel, Jews
or the US military were politely asked...Rantel would have a raging,
rabid screamer "moderate" Muslim just about to meltdown.
Those interviews should have been videotaped and played on primetime TV.
It would have been as informative as "The Path To 9-11".

The Thai military, including Army under Sondhi, has very good relations with both Israel and the US and cross trains with both of them on a regular basis.

Thanks for the description of Rantel's interviews. I agree that this dynamic is as important as 'The Path to 09/11'.
