My now 19 year old daughter got her nose pierced last spring. We were furious about it, especially her response: "I knew you guys wouldn't like it, but I figured you'll get over it eventually."
We've had conversations over the tattoo issue, i.e. the cons and the pros. As long as we are supporting her, our edict is no tattoos. Once she's on her own, let's just say we're praying that she will be wiser.
I have brain washed my daughter about tattoos with the same philosophy I used with cabbage patch dolls when she was younger. They are vile, ugly and disgusting. She ever wanted a cabbage patch doll and she hates tattoos./p>
