So here’s the thing about speed dating for Muslims.
Many American Muslims — or at least those bent on maintaining certain conservative traditions — equate anything labeled “dating” with hellfire, no matter how short a time is involved. Hence the wildly popular speed dating sessions at the largest annual Muslim conference in North America were given an entirely more respectable label. They were called the “matrimonial banquet.”
“If we called it speed dating, it will end up with real dating,” said Shamshad Hussain, one of the organizers, grimacing.
Both the banquet earlier this month and various related seminars underscored the difficulty that some American Muslim families face in grappling with an issue on which many prefer not to assimilate. One seminar, called “Dating,” promised attendees helpful hints for “Muslim families struggling to save their children from it.”
The couple of hundred people attending the dating seminar burst out laughing when Imam Muhamed Magid of the Adams Center, a collective of seven mosques in Virginia, summed up the basic instructions that Muslim American parents give their adolescent children, particularly males: “Don’t talk to the Muslim girls, ever, but you are going to marry them. As for the non-Muslim girls, talk to them, but don’t ever bring one home.”

Yasmeen Qadri, suggested that Muslim mothers across the continent band together in an organization called “Mothers Against Dating,” modeled on Mothers Against Drunk Driving. If the term “arranged marriage” is too distasteful to the next generation, she said, then perhaps the practice could be Americanized simply by renaming it “assisted marriage,” just like assisted living for the elderly.
“In the United States we can play with words however we want, but we are not trying to set aside our cultural values,” said Mrs. Qadri, a professor of education.

I can't tell you how disgusting this is to me. muslims view infidels as less than human, so it's ok for their sons to do anything they want with infidel women, as long as they don't bring one home.

Use these non Muslim women for your pleasure but do not bring one home. That's how I read this but then what about a Muslim female? I am sure that if one ever even thought about dating a non Muslim that the honor solution would be brought to the door.

I have not fully finished reading the whole article. But it did strike me that to each his own in America. As long as no one is trying to kill or push their beliefs on another, my heart goes out to these families. It must be very difficult to try to integrate within a western society and uphold the laws of one's religion that are not synonymous with the popular culture. What I do admire about these people is they are trying. The Islamofacists are not.
Western societal norms are very liberal and contrary to even biblical standards and these are the true tests of all faithful families no matter what the religion.
As the famous line in Braveheart goes, "Slaves are made in such ways."

I can just imagine the conversations. "Do you want children"....."Yes, I dream of having children that blow themselves up".
I smell a new reality show in the making! The "lucky" winner would go home with a new wife, while the losers would retire backstage to contemplate jihad! In the following time slot they could follow the enraged family members around until an honor killing occurs!
Yeah, well wait until you start hearing about the muzzie women being sent back home to be killed. Or the ones that tell the neighbors the daughter "went" back home but they killed her.
They've been pulling that stunt in Europe for a while now.

It does make me grateful to be a Christian. At least as a Christian I was raised to treat all people with dignity and respect.

Elaborate. I am not familiar with all this stuff. I was just commenting in general on the article and religious culture versus pop culture. But I want to hear more about what you mentioned.

I was raised to believe that respect is earned. That is, all people are assumed to be worthy of respect, but true respect is earned. muslims have proven to me, time and again, that they are not worthy of respect.
...or "assisted suicide"?...............
