"We consider that the new statements represent a retreat from what went before," Brotherhood deputy leader Mohammed Habib told Reuters.

"We can consider them a sufficient apology, even if we had wanted the pope to outline his ideas and vision of Islam," said Habib, whose opposition Islamist group has inspired similar movements across the Arab world.

The Pope said he was "deeply sorry" At the anger caused by his remarks on Islam and said a quote he used from a medieval text about holy wars did not reflect his personal thoughts.

They backed down. He did not apologize for what he said.

The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood said the apology is not sufficent as of this writing (heard this per Fox News).

Word now is (according to FOX) that this group changed its mind ~ they now say the Pope must do more.

An exorcism perhaps?

I tend to agree people in the west are actually trying to find the Pope's speach on the internet & when they do they discover that the muslim's are literally getting bent over a sentence fragment ! And these people are talking back to a camel jockeys.

When the next insult comes they will probably gun down someone in a wheelchair.

Leo Klinghoffer says it's already been done.

Nothing like caving in to the barbarians and adding one more notch to their power over the free world.

They certainly are training us well - obey us - do NOT 'offend" us, it is Sharia Law and we intend for the world to obey.

We can offend and be offensive and barbaric as we want and if YOU are offended, we could care less. It is our right as the rightful rulers of the world.

That's hows bullies operate - until someone stands and bloodies their nose real good...

Here are a couple of interesting sites on Islam by Islamics - interesting to note that the free discussion forums have been shut down.

It should be sufficient after all about 5 years ago I recall a similar apology when people danced in the streets and cheered "death to America" on 9/12/2001.

IOW: I'm sorry you are savages. If the Pope didn't believe then why did he say it?

This is the Pope's warning to the western empire.

I am disappointed. A golden opportunity for a christian leader to lead has shriveled into nothing.

Empty threat. The world is nowhere near sick of muslims yet. It will certainly take a nuclear attack to wake up the West, and even then liberals will say we can't strike back because we won't know the exact names of the muslims who did it. Liberals will still want us to arrest the individual attackers, when in fact they probably died when they set the bomb off.

After all, we can't nuke a whole city because of the actions of a small group, right?

Believe me it's not empty. The next attack on the US will unleash hell on the Muslim world.

"Actually, after shooting a 60 year old nun in the back, they believed they did enough for right now."

I was thinking the same thing. Had this murder not occurred, the "apology" might not be accepted.

Islamic depredations are not sufficent for the West to wake up. What is needed is tough love toward the West as Ann Coulter does tough love toward the Liberals. One must disrupt the passive thought processes of the most of the West. Maybe remarks along the lines of Europe and the West deserved this. You guys laughed at what was happening to the Jews, but now it's happening to you. And there should be calls from Israel for an independent Londonstan, Paristan, and Vacticanstan (this is not to mean this should happen, but for the purposes of cold water splashed on the West to snap them out of their stupor, like Ann Coulter does with the Liberals).

Until an Ann Coulter splash-of-cold-water type stuff is done by someone in authority, the West will never wake up from its stupor no matter how many nuns or millions are killed. Ugly incidents don't necessarily change people's or leader's conceptions anymore.

They took it back. Now they want a CLEAR apology...

Muslim Brotherhood urges clear apology from Pope

Published: 09.17.06, 18:01

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said Pope Benedict had not made a "clear apology" on Sunday for remarks on Islam that have sparked anger across the Muslim world.

"It does not rise to the level of a clear apology and, based on this, we're calling on the Pope of the Vatican to issue a clear apology that will decisively end any confusion," Brotherhood deputy leader Mohammed Habib told Reuters. Habib had earlier described the Pope's remarks as a "sufficient apology". (Reuters)

In my humble opinion, the Pope owes NO ONE an apology. The fact that people cannot tolerate hearing the truth about themselves is their problem. Their behavior this past week only confirms the truth of the words quoted.

I am Catholic and I am enraged. I am supposed to love my enemies and right now I am having a very hard time when every time I turn around the Koranimals blast the Pope or anybody who voices their opinion. The Pope apologized but it is not good enough. Where is the peace? These idiots kill a nun, burn some churches and it's all good. Where are the Islamic leaders who will denounce these knuckleheads? Lately and more and more, I am thinking Islam means terrorism.
