So sorry about your Jays, GB. My Mom has stellar jays that come to a "pan" attached to the upstairs picture window where she has her chair. She moves the screen and hand feeds them peanuts. A week or so ago she forgot to put the screen all the way back and ended up with the jay in the house.
They were coming in looking for peanuts. No trouble getting them to go back out? I always wanted to feed them by hand. That would be a thrill to me. Your Mom must get such joy from them.
