Nothing particularly new here, but the Jordanian’s and Saudi’s should get their say. If I have a chance I’ll add some other Muslim commentary to the thread, they’re not worth threads of their own.

In response to the Pope’s suggestion that there’s violence in Islam, I particularly liked the defense

that the pope's remarks "threaten world peace" and "pour oil on the fire and ignite the wrath of the whole Islamic world

You convinced me it’s a religion of peach Mahdi.

And

After the bloodstained conversions in South America, the Crusades in the Muslim world, the coercion of the church by Hitler’s regime, and even the coining of the phrase ‘holy war’ by Pope Urban II, I do not think the church should point a finger at extremist activities in other religions

The Pope's statement was an attempt to jeopardise a remarkable unity displayed by Christians and Muslims against recent Israeli aggression in Lebanon,

"We demand that the Pope make a public apology"

And the rest of us demand that YOU go take a shower and use lots of soap.

The Pope should apologize, right after the muslims denounce the Iranian president and Chavez for their anti semitic remarks.

"you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached"

I guess it hadn't evolved into a religion of peace yet.

Too bad they can't muster the same level of outrage over the murders committed by their brethren.

"...spread by the sword the faith he preached." The Pope need not apologize for speaking the TRUTH. When Muslims contribute something to humanity besides a history of bloody borders, mayhem, destruction and stand up to the evil within their "religion", then they can criticize the Pope or any other Christian / Jewish leader who merely points out their mendacity.

"He said, I quote, 'Show me just what [the Prophet] Mohammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached,"' he quoted the emperor as saying.

That question was asked in the 14th century and the response is just now coming out? Not exactly quick thinkers, are they? I haven't seen their answer, either.

Thank you for posting this. The "hysterics" have shown:

They do not know how to listen.

They are overripe for the camera and newsbites.

They are rabidly against any kind of negotiation with others.

Had they truly been "gentlemen" of Islam, they would have requested an audience to discuss the matter with the Pope. Had they been learned, they would have not screamed at the Pope, they would have calmly repudiated the Pope.

The hysterics did none of these; and thereby showed themselves as "rabid" hysterics.

If these are indeed the appointed or self-appointed "spokesmen" of Islam, Islam will continue to die as a religion.

What they showed by their very words was "jihad"; not principles or good character.

Who better than the pope to give them a reality check. Apparently they feel that they can bully everyone and no-one should say anything. F'em.

Time for a crusade perhaps?

These creatures have become emboldened by wimps such as the UN, Eurowimps like the frogs and Spanish, liberal politicians and their media. It's not time for the Pope to be cautious but rather all civilized (ie non-muslim) leaders, to back him up, including the milquetost UN, with plain truth about this monstrous "religion".

'Show me just what [the Prophet] Mohammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached,"'

Absolute TRUTH! Even today: Slavery, treatment of women, beheading of non Muslims, killing of anyone who will not convert, killing of Christians, killing of women and children even on this day.

Muslim attacks against the United States anger me! In the past, Muslim attacks against Egypt, all of Northern Africa, Turkey, Greece, the Balkans and Spain anger me!

Without the threat to behead or convert there would be no Islam.

The Muslim treatment of women angers me! The Muslim use of slaves angers me! The total lie of the leaders of Islam angers me!

The Crusades were mounted because the Muslims were attacking Europe and the other nations throughout the region. Thank you impeller for your excellent work in Rumania. We need you today.
