Kill the Christians
World Net Daily ^ | September 13, 2006 | JOSEPH FARAH

It's been a while since the Romans made sport of feeding Christians to the lions, but there's a terrible new Colosseum-style feeding frenzy emerging – a new bloodlust for eliminating the plague of uppity Christians right here in the U.S.

You think I'm exaggerating?

Take a look at what Mel Seesholtz, a Ph.D. and professor of English at Pennsylvania State University, offered up yesterday in the Online Journal, a website that boasts of being established in 1998 "to provide uncensored and accurate news, analysis and commentary."

Seesholtz has his panties in a bunch over opposition by Christians in California to what is euphemistically called there "the Bias Free Curriculum Act."

He holds out for scorn the Capitol Resource Institute, a Christian pro-family lobby in Sacramento, James Dobson's Focus on the Family and me.

Will all of the GOD APPOINTED AND ANOINTED SUPERVISORS AND JUDGES OF HAL LINDSEY PLEASE STAND UP.

Standing humbly, but standing nonetheless...

For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?
But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

- I Corinthians 5:12-13

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?
Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?
So if you have law courts dealing with matters of this life, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church?

- I Corinthians 6:2-4

I think the heart attitude as a very crucial key issue in God's eyes.

And that's wholesale an issue between all of us and God.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL PING!

This article is about the so-called "Bias-Free Curriculum Act" in California and a Penn State professor's call to rid the U.S. of the "evil" conservatives who helped defeat it.

This ping list is for the "other" articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.

He gives Greg Laurie a column too.

Strike two.

Strike two.

I figured you'd say that.

I supsect that you think that Hal Lindsay's personal life disqualifies him from being a legitimate "Christian" author.

What do you have against Greg Laurie? What disqualifies him?

My theory is that the draft dodgers of the 60s stayed in school as long as possible to avoid going to Viet Nam, came out with PhDs, and went straight into academia.
I believe your theory is correct. The anti-war elitists rode out the Nam war on College deferments.

I supsect that you think that Hal Lindsay's personal life disqualifies him from being a legitimate "Christian" author.

It seems nothing in a person's character disqualifies them from anything in today's "Christian" society.

"And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." (Matt. 19:9; cf. Matt. 5:32)

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites," (1 Cor. 6:9)

You tell me, are habitual adulterers/serial polygamists disqualified from being "Christian" authros?

What do you have against Greg Laurie? What disqualifies him?

I find I don't much care for the pessimistic views of hard-core dispies. E.g.,:

For clearly one of the ''super-signs'' of the last days is a hostility against the regathered nation of Israel, just like we are seeing on the front pages of our news (See Ezekiel 37-39). Some would laugh at such an idea and reply, ''I've been hearing about Jesus returning my whole life! So,where is He?'' ...

Does it seem late to you right now? It does to me. ...

It's never been this ''late'' in the history of our troubled planet.

Looking at current events rather than looking at Jesus will get you every time.

What's wrong with that? Every minute it is later than it was and closer to home than right now.

So because Greg Laruie recognizes that it is later than it has ever been that disqualifies him as a legitimate christian author?

I find I don't much care for the pessimistic views of hard-core dispies

Greg Laurie is out preaching the gospel and gathering the elect, knowing that the number of the elect is fixed according to the foreknowledge and purpose of God. What are you doing, other than complaining about the pessimistic attitudes of those who are busy gathering the harvest?

Then perhaps you can save your bluster from post 41 for a time when you are privy to that "issue between all of us and God."

It is obvious, logically speaking, that we are closer to the end than we have ever been. That is a no brainer. Every minute that click off makes us, well, one minute closer.

The problem with Laurie is that by readig political tea leaves he has come to the conclusion that we are much closer to the end than we are to the beginning.

I think I drew a timeline like this before:

<-------------------------------------------------------->

|
-+- 2nd
| Coming
|

Where on the continuum are we?

<-------------------------------------------------------->
^
Laurie and his ilk would put us about ------------ Here |
But he gets there by reading the signs which he believes to be a valid indicator of the "nearness" of the 2nd coming. Why does Laurie think he is any more right than the thousands of other date-suggesters that have gone before? Better question: Why should anyone believe him?

The fact is we don't know if we are:

<-------------------------------------------------------->
^
Here |
Or:

<-------------------------------------------------------->
^
Here |
Or even:

<-------------------------------------------------------->
^
| Here

Irrelevant. The question had to do with Farah's decision to employ Lindsey and Laurie on WND. I stated my opinion.

That presupposes that she would have been spared if she said "no," and those two scumbags probably would've shot her anyway because Cassie was well-adjusted, well-liked, and well-respected in the school--in other words, she was everything that they weren't.

No, it does not.

Cassie Bernall was picked out because she was reading her Bible in that library. Her killer(s) already knew the answer to the question. She chose to be a witness for Christ and answered truthfully, "Yes." It was the last act of a faithful and obedient servant of God.

I hope, when all other hope is gone, that I too will respond accordingly. In the meantime, I fight the good fight on several fronts. That fight at present consists of words. But there may come a time when persecution becomes very real. It won't be labeled as such. There will always be some pretense: racism, intolerance, child abuse, terrorism, to name a few. No Christian should "live by the sword", but each should know how and when to use one.
