Yesterday the President participated in 9/11 ceromonies in New York including attending a memorial service.
Today he attended a ceremony at the Fort Pitt Firehouse on the lower east side of Manhattan afterwhich he travelled to Shanksville, Pennsylvania to lay a wreath at the Flight 93 crash site.
He and the First Lady then went to the Pentagon to lay another wreath at the crash site there as in Shanksville the President and first lady met with families of those who lost their lives after the wreath laying ceremony.
Yesterday the Vice President appeared on the Meet the Press. Today he led the remembrance Ceremony at the White House joined by his specially invited guest Baroness Thatcher who also attended a memorial service with him at John's and later at the State Department.
Later on this evening the President will address the nation please feel free to use this thread as safe live thread.
I urge all that have not yet done so to check out Wolfstar's dose from yesterday where she does a fantastic timeline of the event of 11th September 2001. There are also some fantastic photos some of which you probably will not have seen before.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

Snugs,
I finally got to go through the whole dose this afternoon. Of course it wasn't without tears in my eyes! I am so very proud of our wonderful President and First Lady. To see him comforting the families--again, as I have said so many times--he is such a genuine man! I love him!
I am so proud also of the VP and Mrs. Cheney and Secs. Rumsfeld and Rice. What wonderful people GWB has surrounded himself with --it is a testament to his character.
I was thrilled to see Baroness Thatcher. What a wonderful gesture for her to make that arduous trip. She looks great.
I know the 9/11 Dose was a huge job. Thank you for undertaking that task!

Thanks, snugs.

Did you get that program in England the past 2 days? If so prolly on earlier & you saw it prior to our showing.
Thank you for the great job. Maggie T looks wonderful. What a special lady. Love the pix of she & the Cheneys walking together.

I don't post here often, but I really appreciate the daily pings and I do check every thread. Still gotta get my "daily dose"!
I have a personal request. My twin sister is also a Freeper....Repandproudofit. We are meeting in Paris Friday for our birthday! An event of personal interest may occur while we're gone and I would appreciate someone pinging her to that thread.
Her son (Stewart Cink) is a pro golfer and a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team. The team and their wives are going to the White House before leaving to take on the Europeans in Ireland, probably be next week. Please ping her if photos of that event appear on a Daily Dose thread. Thanks!

I read on another thread that apparently this is the way the contracts are written between the local station and the network that carries the program nationally -- something about the game having to be shown in the cities where the teams are from.

This is EXACTLY the type of treatment Timmy Potato needs to get every day.

I agree, but I was also thinking during the viewing, Who on earth could have played Cheney? Tough shoes to fill. He's a very unique man.
