I will not be here for the first hour of tonights program. Thought I would put it up for those FReepers overseas that are viewing it now.
For those who wish to see the clips the Clinton lawyers complained about, Click here
Steady on. But as long as those are tears of anger, it's a Good Thing.
I'm beyond the tears for the carnage and destruction, but sometimes the tales of the survivors, including the children of those who died, gets to me. That includes the kids of those lost in fight against these bastards.
One of the hardest things I did was to send a Lt. Col., who I really hadn't known long, but long enough to know he is a genuine Good Guy, with kids, off to the theater of war. He's back now, and I attended his retirement luncheon a couple of weeks ago. He'll still be serving, but in mufti rather than BDU's or ACU's.
Check out Ketih OLberman's Rant he spewed just prior to the Presiden't Speech tonight on MSNBC

I especially like the longwinded "Twilight Zone" Conspiracy angle he rails on about.
What friggin fruitcake this guy is.
It's quiet now, I need to get stuff done around here as far forward as possible. A storm is coming. We'll get a taste around mid-month, when Dinkyjacker and Bush address the UN.
Then it goes quiet till after the election, diplomatically, and militarily until the New Year, unless his Mahdi-ness gets tired of waiting.
Make hay while the sun shines.
I meant to mention that I have read [I am old but not that old] that the US feared a Japanese invasion of the west coast. If we fear an invasion again, I would think the miitary commanders would have the power again to remove whomever they wanted, civilians out of danger, potential enemy agents based on race, etc that they wanted.
I KNOW the wikipedia part about some Italian and Germans were detained on the east coast too. It was not general, but as the questioner said, even if it were one in Topeka, it is an extreme measure in the US.
They didn't show the jumpers, but they put int the sound of their bodies hitting the cover over the walkways, and showed the firemen directing those evacuating away from where the bodies were falling, and yelling about why the evacuees were being redirected. The sound was probably worse than the sight would have been.
They didn't pull that particular punch at all, IMHO.
Don't be a stranger though over at ME, when you can grab a minute. We're all feeling the pressure cooker over there rumbling too.
This deserves a thread of its own. I'm going to put it up. This is a startling article.
game= gave
geeze.. guess it is time for beddie by
Massoud as well. Americans can learn what courage is from this man. Our soldiers have it to but we lacked the will to let them go out there and do there job. There is no such thing as a nice war. That's was the constant fault of Albright, Berger, and Tenet. That these people are walking around unpunished is unbelievable.
You are right and the bodies hitting sounded about like they do in the French brothers documentary about the probie NYC fireman. They made it a little louder in The Path, I thought.
I was a pilot in Strategic Air Command in mid 50's and understand how dangerous that was.
We came closer to nuclear than most people realize.
Was the movie tonight as it was the first night? ABC.com has both the videos to download, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it.
will look for your thread ping TOMORROW.. rather wasted with sleep depravation & wino NOT depravation..
sweet dreams starwise. Love the thread you posted this AM
The portrayal of the evil Barbara Bodine was accurate. I've seen it written many places that Condoleezza Rice deferred to Clarke to run the meeting, which surprised him, as he had been reassigned. He was up on security more than anyone else, so I don't have any objection to Rice's actions. If they hadn't picked Pres. Palmer's witchy wife to play Condi's role, the actual behavior of Condi came across OK.
I think we were "fortunate" that we were able to pull them back together when we made our initial assault over there. And you're probably right- he probably would have run the show eventually over there. What a waste.
Two people, a man and wife, at THE TASTE OF CHICAGO, when he was president, didn't turn to mush. But, they WERE hauled off to jail, had the IRS set on them, but never did more than call him a "jerk".
Early on, in his presidency, I was shopping at Saks, in the flagship store in Manhattan. I had NO idea that he and Hillary would decided to just "drop in" and that Saks would go into total LOCKDOWN. I was upset enough, to find myself withing spitting distance and was struggling to get away from them and OUT OF THE STORE. Trust me, I didn't "turn to mush" and was lucky beyond my wildest dreams, to have managed to get out of Saks in one piece and not thrown into jail, for what I was saying. ;^)
