A flushing toilet would be appropriate. LOL! Yes, that would be perfect. That reminds me of the T-shirt I have from the 2004 Pres. election. It has outlines of both John's (Kerry and Edwards) with the words, "Flush the Johns in 2004". I wore it to class and my teacher was not very excited...to say the least. LOL!

That's an easy one, they'll determine the reason for the slide is she's being too nice and not asking the tough questions of Bush. And not enough Clinton puff pieces...

Why do people do that? Can she get her old job back? One month at her salary I could retire. And would.

Couric's first broadcast drew high ratings for its curiosity factor, but since then it's rapidly fallen because the CBS Evening News is still the tired format that has been left behind by today's 24-hour cable news channels and the public Internet.

Laurie Dhue versus Katie Couric. Yeah, now there's a tough choice, LOL!

The View is on the wrong network.
However that is the Career Path that Barbara Walters took. (She was hired to do Network News at a huge salary, and ended up doing fluff pieces, and finally 'stars' in The View.)

If we get another week or so of data points we can figure out with this is exponential or linear decay.

Actually, I would love to be a wall in the room where the executives are meeting to discuss what to do...
And they will discuss, plan and advance ideas except one. REPORT the news without editorializing, liberal moralizing, or airing "fake but accurate" stories. Ratings will continue to fall and they still won't understand why.

You know, somebody wrote a plug-in for Firefox for BOINC (seti@home, folding@home, etc.) to display
user total credit/project credit in a toolbar.
You could display position/share or the like. Talk about software with a limited shelf life...

They might want to add some cartoons and consider hiring Mike Judge and Robert Smigel. Some humor along the lines of TV Funhouse, The Simpsons, and King of the Hill might broaden the demographic. The cutesy dumbing down strategy has not worked so far although maybe they aimed too low.
Katie: "Based on feedback on our website, tonight we thought it might be fun to have the news presented by Boris and Natasha..."
To: gopwinsin04
Word is that Bill Clinton will be interviewed for an upcoming show, soon, in an attempt to boost ratings.....Katie's head will be visible at the bottom of the screen....

On tv this morning, they did a blurb claiming that ratings were UP since Katie took over. They were preening her, and I think trying to manufacture momentum for her.
