Lauer/Bush on Today show: Pretty tense
Today show

Posted on 09/11/2006 9:07:21 AM PDT by quesney

Did anyone else see the exchange between President Bush and the Today show's Matt Lauer this morning on the Today show?

I tuned in near the end, and it looked pretty intense. Lauer was a very aggressive in his hand gestures, repeatedly pointing a stern finger into the president's chest. Almost looked like it would turn physical. Would appreciate a link to any online video.

I'm only a few minutes into the video but it is amazing the strategic grasp that Bush has on the "big picture". Lauer and the others look at tactics only and have ZERO concept of the big picture and the true nature of the threat.

Flash I have, but Internet Exploder 6, and Winders Media Player 10 don't seem to work on my Linux/Firefox box.

Pitty, I would have liked to have seen this.

Funny, you follow the link to download IE6 and it take you to IE7 RC1. They seem to want you to beta software for them.

I noticed that. LOL!

Maybe the occasional Presidential finger to the chest was an attempt to get lil matt to back up out the door. :)

Bush is prolly 15 yrs Lauer's elder, and Bush would easily kick his a$$.

George Herbert Walker Bush could kick Lauer's a$$!

Heck, Barbara Bush could kick Lauer's a$$.

Heard a piece of it. Very tight voice. Dubya should relax, he has this situation by the short hairs.

In order to work at NBC and it's tentacles, one obviously has to swear an oath that they will disparage President Bush and VP Cheney at every opportunity.
If given the chance, they must pledge to treat both men with disrespect and discourtesy.
I don't know why the WH continues to give NBC the time of day.
President Bush would get a more honest shake at CNN.
Wolf Blitzer may be a liberal at heart, but, I don't believe that he's a rude SOB like those employed by NBC.

Yeah, you need windows media player 10. I tried to get around it a few different ways, with no luck.

But if you're running winxp the setup program sets a restore point.

I plan on loading the software just to watch, and then uninstall.

You have freepmail

And it worked out horribly. It was buffering every 10 seconds. I couldn't make any sense out of it so I'll try again tomorrow.

"I don't think the President really comprehends the depth of his enemies' hatred or the insideousness of their intent. You forgot to add "JUST KIDDING" after that silly post."

I've never known what it feels like to robotically follow another human being's every single word, stance, belief, action and ideas; and you Bushbots definately serve to make me feel all the better for it.

President Bush has repeatedly allowed himself to be interviewed by his most vicious Leftist enemies, and he has continually gotten bashed around as a result. His advisors, for sure, are telling him that the only way to get his message out is to do it on national television. What he and his advisors fail to discern is that this media are owned and operated by his worst enemies, and he never, ever gives an interview to them that ends up helping his cause. All he acheives in these interviews is to allow the 'enemy within' to dredge up every single bogus allegation about the WOT, in a national audience, and which only serves to stoke the fires of the Leftists. The problem is that Bush is NOT eloquent or articulate enough to turn the tables on the leftist "interviewers", who just set him up with loaded or presumptuous questions.

Your first sentence negated the seriousness of this post as well. You bashers are so simple minded it's getting funny...... Do you use your brains for anything, or is it just President Bush, and those of us who support him who make you completely lose your minds?

Let me try to reason with you and walk you through this slowly. Put those emotions aside for a minute and try to think.....

To say that President Bush doesn't 'comprehend the depth of his enemies' hatred or the insideousness of their intent' is foolish at many levels. You are basing that opinion on your own personal feelings about how he should be handling things, and you show absolutely no understanding of the real world that HE lives in, the intelligence he is given, and the people he has to try to deal with on a daily basis.

You mistake character, patience and grace with stupidity and weakness.

You don't seem to be able to make the distinction between being President and being Joe Blow on the street who can say whatever he likes and spew venom at others (like you can, for instance by calling me a robot just because I thought your post was silly).

Your comments show ignorance and naivte, and a lack of ability to comprehend quite a lot, to tell the truth.

The President has received terrorist threat assessments every day for five years. He understands more clearly than anyone else the depth of evil of our foe. He has talked with families of the victims of terrorist attacks, and families of the fallen........people who have lost dearest loved ones because of the horrible decision that HE had to make to send our troops into harm's way. You cannot seriously think he doesn't 'understand' how evil this enemy is.

As to the domestic enemies......the left.......don't fool yourself into thinking he doesn't 'get' them either, just because he's a gracious man. He has had decades of experience with his Dad, his brother, and himself, to understand how despicable the left is. Just because he chooses not to get into the mud with them doesn't mean for an instance that he doesn't 'understand' them either. You mistakenly feel (not think, but feel), that if he doesn't behave in the way you want, that he doesn't 'really comprehend' what he is dealing with.

My feelings would love to have had the President deck the whining twerp Lauer right there in the Oval Office, but my feelings don't lead me to say he doesn't 'comprehend' Lauer because he didn't do it. And by giving this interview, he was able to get his message out to a wider audience, and make Lauer look like the whiny fool that he is. He was able to show his deep respect for the office of the Presidency, and Lauer's complete disrespect for it.

It was smart to do this interview.

I repeat........your original post needed a "Just Kidding" tag to it. It wasn't a serious post showing serious thought. It was just an emotional reaction filled with hyperbole. You want to try again?

Lauer was particularly incensed that Khalid Sheik Mohammed had been water boarded -- strapped to a board and made to think he would be drowned.

Lauer would really lose his mind if he knew what I think should be tolerated when trying to get information out of these muslim terrorist pigs.
