Did anyone else see the exchange between President Bush and the Today show's Matt Lauer this morning on the Today show?
I tuned in near the end, and it looked pretty intense. Lauer was a very aggressive in his hand gestures, repeatedly pointing a stern finger into the president's chest. Almost looked like it would turn physical. Would appreciate a link to any online video.
Lauer was objecting to our waterboarding KSM? Oh, brother. Say no more.
#1. We waterboard our Special Ops guys to teach them how to withstand interrogation in the event they are captured.
#2. If there was ever a terrorist that SHOULD be tortured, it's KSM. And, as I recall, the president said in a speech last week that attacks were averted as a result of KSM's interrogation.
What concerns me is that since the Lindsey Grahams of the world went ballistic over Abu Graib, which, as far as I can tell didn't involve one second of torture for any jihadist, is that the left will not permit this kind of interrogation to go on in the future.
And CIA agents involved in interrogations won't push because they will fear litigation.
And whenever one of the malignant leftists and even a few Republicans talk about how we don't want our soldiers mistreated in the event they're captured, I wish just one reporter would ask when was the last time that our military was treated according to the Geneva Convention? I think the answer is never.
My immediate reaction was that I wished Dubya could deck the fool.
BTW, for those who don't know, Lauer had his shorts in a knot about our treatment of the Al Qaeda prisoners who were most directly responsible for the attacks of 9/11/01. Lauer was particularly incensed about our treatment of Khalid Sheik Mohammed and that the CIA had used water-boarding on him.
Since the media is filled with Bush hating leftists, and I have become a closet conspiracy theorist when it comes to their efforts against this President, I'm wondering if it's deliberate so that the full impact of the dressing down that the Commander in Chief and Leader of the Free World gave the worm Lauer isn't as obvious.
Speaking of girly men...I wouldn't be surprised if old Lindsey wears frilly things when he goes beddy bye.
LOL.
He's our senator, sadly, and we can't stand him.
No .. it worked fine for me on Explorer. Maybe it's clogged with traffic.
"What was the topic?"
Gee, I don't know. Maybe 9-11? Just a hunch here, although I can't imagine why that subject would come up today.
Ha ha ha. He didn't even ask him to sit down.
A stand up guy interview?
Wasn't it surprising how close they were to each other ..? Lauer looked like such limp wimp. God bless W for his patience and restraint.
If it was clogged with traffic.......GOOD!
(I'll try again later. :)
I just watched it. My place is now available. :)
I am still laughing... POTUS never offered him a seat. LOL
I cant get the software to download. So, you're way ahead of me and I cant find this on Drudge or Newsmax either.
Too bad Dubya couldn't have decked Lauer. Sigh. I know decorum has its purpose, but if anyone deserved to be slugged, it was Lauer.
Dubya was probably afraid Lauer would soil the furniture. ;-)
Hey Matty, don't go away mad, just go away.
Every time I see the Oval office, it's like I 'know' it --- have been there before... and we have... at the Library.
I DID get to hear my favorite line again though............the President: "So WHAT??"
I love that man! :)
It'll probably show up somewhere else. It's a GOOD interview..........I mean the President's part, that is.
LOL -- yeah, I love his "So what's" too.
Note that he never offered Matt a chair. LOL.
