Oooooooooooo diVINity!!!!! One of the world's best ideas.
Here's one recipe. I never make it, only buy it, rarely.
http://southernfood.about.com/od/candyrecipes/r/blbb355.htm
The ingredients should give you a good idea what it's like.
* 4 cups granulated sugar
* 1 cup light (not dark) corn syrup
* 1 cup water
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 3 egg whites (room temperature)
* 1 cup walnuts, chopped
* 1 tsp vanilla
* food coloring
It melts in your mouth. Picture coming soon.
Could I use golden syrup instead of corn syrup as we do not sell that in the UK except commercially and I think that was not be suitable for cooking.
They ae selling some on ebay

Okay, you people are not going to seduce me again.
The other day there was a thread that disintegrated into recipe sharing and I foolishly succumbed, and made a spice cake with cream cheese icing.
That is the last cake I will ever make! It was good, but the bakery makes them just as good and a lot smaller. If that cake would keep, it would last forever. I only allow myself one small sweet a day and the domestic partner's idea of a piece of cake is one inch square.
So, don't even think of tricking me into making divinity!!
No, I won't.
