CRITICS & HYPOCRITES (free speech, but only if Clintonites approve)
NY POST ^ | September 8, 2006 | EDITORIAL

Posted on 09/08/2006 8:31:07 AM PDT by Liz

How to tote up the hypocrisy spewing from Camp Clinton -over ABC's mini-series....Calling the docudrama based on the 9/11 Commission's report as well as other sources, "fiction," the Clintonites want it re-edited to tone down criticism of the former president - or, better still, yanked entirely. To show the film as it now stands, Bill Clinton's office said in a statement yesterday, would be "despicable."

What - no liberal cries of "censorship"? Nothing about the sacred constitutional guarantee of free speech? No warnings about the "chilling effect" caused by ideological zealots intent on pursuing their partisan agenda? .......former National Security Adviser Sandy "I've Got Stolen Secret Papers Down My Pants" Berger - claim the flick is full of factual errors that portray them as lax in their pursuit of Osama bin Laden.

Remember how Democrats responded to Republican criticism when CBS prepared to air a two-part drama about Ronald Reagan that portrayed the late president as an unfeeling tyrant, complete with wholly invented dialogue? "This is censorship, pure and simple," wailed Barbra Streisand.......like ex-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who now complains about the 9/11 film, with only second-hand information about it.......People for the American Way lashed out at "the echo chamber of right-wing pundits and Republican Party officials" for declaring that Ronald Reagan "is off-limits to media treatment that is anything short of fawning."

Gee. Isn't that exactly what the Clintonites are saying....? How shocked they seem that some folks in Hollywood, of all places, deem to portray Team Clinton in a way that is "short of fawning."

.....Clintonite protests seem to be working - ABC has altered some scenes. Just how far the network gives in remains to be seen.

This is far worse than just hypocrisy

Pundits criticized the Reagan movie--their free speech right, and some threatened a boycott--again the freedom of the consumer to purchase what they wish

In this instance the democrats have written a letter with thinly veiled threats to yank ABC's broadcast license if ABC doesn;t do as they say.

That's not just hypocrisy, that's government sponsored political censorship.

The day after 911 there were people yelling at Clinton literally in the street. I`ll never forget one news clip that of course will never ever be shown again as it`s probably destroyed by now, three black women in Harlem were being interviewed about 911 and naturally were all shook up, I think one womans husband was missing in the WTC.

Anyway, lo and behold who should show up while they were being interviewed but the serial sexual offender himself, using this photo op to hug people in the street. That is until one of these women laid into him "You didn`t do anything about the terrorists all the time you was in office! Why didn`t you do anything?" And Clinton went into his whole BS spiel... Everyone knew about Clinton that day, yet isn`t it amazing here we are 6 years later and the media still makes pretend he "did everything he could". And liberals have the gall to focus on Bush reading a book in that classroom? "Oh look, Bush is not taking action" Yet 8 years of wet noodle national security is completely overlooked.

I was wondering along the same lines as the Post. Was the Brolin-as-Reagan docudrama ever edited?

I wrote ABC yesterday supporting their plans to show this movie and that I planned to watch it. Today I wrote them complaining about their obvious cowering in the wake of threats from Democrat Senators, and that I wouldn't watch it now. I never watch ABC or any of the other cable networks anyway.

I guess the Clintoons are afraid of truth and reality when it comes to their total lack of protecting us agains al Qaeda and Ben Laden. The link to the video below tells us all we need to know about how dangerous the Clintoons were/are to our safety.

The Clintons, MSM and Dimwit Party have perfected the art of misinformation. They're even better at it than the Soviets were.

I am fine with editing out any "historical" inaccuracies as long as they replace them with a historically accurate account of Carter, Church Commissions and Democrats like Kerry,Kennedy,Biden,Lahey creating crippling restrictions on the CIA and FBI in the Nationa Security area, prior to 9-11.
The film needs to place the blame squarely where it belongs on Liberals puting conccerns about imaginary civil rights abuses ahead of real security concerns.
It also needs to juxtaposition current Democrats actions such as Harry Reid's bragging that he just killed the Patriot Act and the Rockefeller staff memo about using the bipartisan senate intelligence committee for partisan politics with the democrats pre-911 behavior. This way people can understand nothing has changed with the Democrats.

It sounds like the Clintonites have pieced together the Constitution that they say Bush shredded so they could wipe their a$$ with it. I guess theirs is the only speech that is 'protected'. Can you say Marxism???

Precisely. Bullseye!

In this instance the Democrats in Congress threatened Disney with legal and legislative action.

That IS A VIOLATION of the First Amendment.

Balsa Wood Liberals - the Clinton legacy is so fragile a mere TV show can smash it to smithereens! Wow. And why all the uproar? Clinton was not even President when 9/11 took place. I don't see what he and his crew have to be worried about.

(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )

I just think that the contrast is so beautiful! George W. Bush has so much garbage written about him, movies that bash him and trash his character, protests that cry "Bush Lied, Men Died," and he remains calm and silent and even defends the rights of those people to say what they want. A movie comes out based on the 9/11 Commission and Bill Clinton is a sreaming ninny. The picture couldn't be clearer -- for all to see. What do you have to hide, Bill?
