Andrea Mitchell showed yesterday how badly she performs as an anchor. She just doesn't have it. But she sure knows how to avoid Imus' leading questions.

oh Andrea, on the preacher in trouble: You say people "get it" when hypocrisy shows it's ugly face in republicans. But no mention of Harold Ford's "I Love Jesus when I'm at Playboy parties" hypocrisy.

Andrea Mitchell on Imus and Meredith what's her name on TODAY are practically accusing Bush and Rove of being in on that preacher being gay. I guess the implication is they helped in the cover up, but without a doubt, both NBCers are hoping this latest scandal will hurt republicans on Tuesday.

There is something deeply wrong with people (Mitchell and Imus) who profess to actually like Chris Dodd.

FOX NEWS should cancel Wesley Clark's contract over this ad.

Watching Hardball is almost unbearable, but reading Chris Matthews' rants are very instructive. The show isn't an interview show, it's talk therapy for Matthews! The following is from his Wed show:

"MATTHEWS: Why has John Kerry had such a hard time getting himself out of what looks to me was a flub, not saying “getting us stuck in Iraq”? He didn‘t put in “us”, he didn‘t follow the speech writer‘s words. He blew it and now it‘s gotten to the point where he‘s had to apologize for the misinterpretation of his broken joke.

MATTHEWS: OK. Let me ask you this, which was the dumb statement, the accidental blowing of a joke, because I think that‘s what happened here. If you look at the context, he was going on a riff against Bush, not against guys who get drafted—which they don‘t get drafted anymore—and end up being cannon fodder. There isn‘t any more draft, you don‘t get forced to join the military, you can drop out of every course, flunk every course in America and you still won‘t qualify for the military. And you certainly aren‘t going to be forced to fight a war. It couldn‘t possibly mean what the White House and the Republicans are saying it means, or the American Legion is saying it means. So I don‘t understand this.

But anyway, Kerry has blown it again, by my estimation, by giving his enemies the word “apologize”. Why did he put out the word out, “apologize” today—Bob Shrum?

MATTHEWS: Let me get this straight now. When your opponent takes a word you said out of context and dump all over you on it, turning it into an attack on the military, then you apologize to the military for the fact they did it to you, right? Is that how it works, now?

Thank you. I appreciate that.

MATTHEWS: Bob, what I was impressed by was the Republican choreography of the last 24 hours. They had John Boehner out there saying he wasn‘t going to quit until this guy apologized. Well, he‘s done that. You had Denny Hastert, who was basically in the bunker himself out there in Illinois, he‘s out of the bunker attacking John Kerry.

They were joined by allies, and I was wrong the other day to say that it was coordinated. I thought it was. Apparently it wasn‘t. The head of the American Legion now says that he wasn‘t part of any coordination plan, although his press release arrived in the same pile, it all came out at the same time the other day.

I accept his word it wasn‘t part of a coordinated plan. But all of these people acted without checking out what Kerry said. Kerry did not attack the regular working person or the person who enlists in the military. He attacked the president‘s intelligence, which I think is a mistake, because you are always wrong when you attack the other guy‘s IQ.

But clearly that‘s what he was doing. But Kerry is stuck now, he has spent the day writhing over this thing, and ends up putting out an apology. The front pages tomorrow morning, which didn‘t have one him on today, will be on the front page tomorrow, I‘ll bet you, the “Washington Post” tomorrow, the “Boston Globe” will say, Kerry, quote, “apologizes” on the front page tomorrow. He‘s done it to the Democrats again.

MATTHEWS: Why did he apologize to him? Just tell me Bob, why he apologized to somebody he did not insult?"

When Matthews doesn't like reality, he just creates his own.

Heard the "Gay Hooker" last night on Air Amerkia. He was watching the History Channel and saw "ART".

Then, he was at the gym, the next morning. Some one just happened to leave on another cable station and saw "ART", and his real name.

Of course, he waited six months, to out "ART".

Working lots of OT, missing most of what's going on. OTOH, can listen to KMOX and Txsleuth's radio station WBAP, on the 2AM drive home.

Good to see you, Springman. I can't imagine what they are trying to accomplish with this "outing". Do they think voters in Colorado will now be inclined to vote FOR homosexual marriage? I doubt that.

Don't work too hard.

IMHO, they just want to depress voter turnout. You know, your Preacher is a "FAG".

If this is true, which I dought, I guess if someone is gay, you have to be for same sex marriage.

I'll try not to work too hard. Take care, got to get ready for work.

You're on the money with your Matthews/therapy insight. He'

His saying, "Kerry is stuck now; he has spent the day writhing over this thing then he ends up putting out an apology?" seems to indicate that Matthews has personal knowledge of Kerry's "writhing."

So now that Matthews has dropped "a great American hero" Joe Wilson from his speed-dial he has more time to commisserate with another one of his heroes, failed presidential candidate for the Democrat Party, John F. Kerry.

Does anyone think for one minute that Kerry is "writhing" in remorse for offending American troops and their families and friends?

Kerry is enraged that he got called on his bad conduct. He runs for cover to those who with few visible talents, and little evidence of consistent character, have gotten fat and rich in a country they despise, Imus and then Matthews.

Matthews can't even bring himself to call what Kerry did by its real name. Kerry is "writhing over this THING." This thing, this NOTHING, Matthews means.

This sneering insult by Kerry is nothing to Matthews as well. Matthews proposed that journalists should go into the red states as foreign correspondents reporting on an alien culture.

Knowing what a raving narcissistic psychopath Kerry is, we really don't need Matthews to describe Kerry's "writhing" in fury, but it is pleasant to contemplate.

Libby,Libby,Libby..Cheeney,Cheeney,Cheeney.. Rove,Rove,Rove
for the last few years Chris Matthews has become increasingly shrill, increasingly transparent. (Like that crazy aunt in the attic.) I think he's on the road to becoming a parody of himself, like the SNL impression of himself that he takes such pride in, as if he thinks he's achieved greatness because he's mocked.

He doesn't seem to notice, or care...no one is watching. I guess job security and a fat contract, even with a failing network will do that to you.

I heard, from someone supposedly deep in msnbc non-editorial division, that his contract was multi-year and would cost msnbc more to let him go than to keep him on.

Also, that msnbc does not consider their pundit shows financial assets, but necessary to promote a political agenda favored by certain investors.

Matthews is last century; his enfant terrible act is no longer entertaining, if it ever was; it is merely embarrassing for him although his vanity insures that he does not see this.

From an interview at http://www.andelman.com/mrmedia/97/06.30.97.html ---

"On TV," he [Matthews] says, "you can reach half a million people instantly, and you can revel in a kind of a phenomenon that you can't in print. Print, you can only write the story and describe the event; --

television, you can BE the event."

Tried to stay up, couldn't make it. Just hope it's quicker to execute him in Iraq, that someone in CA.

BTW, with all the OT I've been working, heard a lot of Air Amerika this weekend.

They have been doing the Pre-Obits. The voting machines won't work, votes for Dem's will be counted for Republicans. Et,et...

The hosts I've heard have been trying to, "Get Out the Vote", for people who listen to Air America.

Well, at least they haven't been calling for a new votergasim yet.

Guess they would have to have more than Republicans listening to them, for that to work!!
