I don't see a problem with the (even if it is almost non-existent) profiling because it would be better than staying blind to telltale factors.

The problem is that none of the 9-11 attackers had these "telltale factors". They were not bearded, skullcap wearing, robed folks. None of them dressed as conservative Muslims. They were dressed like regular Americans living regular lives.

They were dressed like regular Americans living regular lives.

And that is why we shouldn't screen and profile Muslims? What a logic!

Security professionals had lifted these procedures to the state of art; there are much more factors they take into consideration that the dress code.

I've seen their pictures and I, for one, would be worried about seeing anyone like them dressed as we are, acting like us, out in public on public transportion, etc. They were still middle eastern, probably lacking fluency in English and had some other non-standard behavior. Living regular lives doesn't involve learning only to fly a commercial jet liner and not be worried about landing, etc.

While you may not think there is a need to profile, I do, and it won't stop me from applying that profiling while I'm traveling and moving around.... to each his own, I guess.
