Ernesto is poised to emerge into Atlantic waters after feebly creeping along the Florida peninsula. Media pundits with tremulous cameras dotted Florida's extensive coastline for the past 24 hours, showing video of children playing in the sand, dark skies, and occasional rain.
Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect from Sebastian Inlet Florida to Cape Lookout North Carolina, as Ernesto moves north at 15mph. The storm's intensity and forecast track has puzzled forecasters for several days.
N.C. Governor Mike Easley and S.C. Governor Mark Sanford activated the National Guard today in their respective states, as the forecast track indicated Ernesto may regain tropical storm force winds, and make landfall again along the Carolinas coastline.

You're welcome.
Tropical Storm Ernesto leaves Florida and heads for the Carolinas...
Do you feel like Bush and FEMA have abandoned you?
Yeah, Jeb Bush had no business letting that storm get past Florida...
In the original "Misty" there is a great story about a hurricane and what it did to Chincoteague (now I don't feel bad about talking about it on this thread).......It is a novel, but the pony did exist and so did the family depicted in it.
I don't know exactly why he was removed, but I am sure it was for a good reason based on what I know of the moderators here.
He did do a relatively good job on this storm (at least intensity-wise), and I do believe he has some significant training in the field. Last season he significantly undercut just about every storm, so I was jabbing at him a bit with this one.
Thanks for the links.
Thank you for all the information posted on these threads - lurk on all the hurricane/ts threads. NN - thanks for starting them all and keeping them going and updated.

I'm hoping for sun by Tuesday morning (school starts)
No problem - the funny thing is that I have been watching the Wrightsville Beach web cam for the last hour and the temperature has gone from 80 to 90 - unbelievable!
hey the Ravens are kicking the Redskins' arse... No surprise there
It wouldn't matter what they were now. Any ongoing winds unnerve me. I just pray you're snug and safe, and your hubby is Mr. Ready TakeCharge, and if you can, put music headphones on.. block out the sounds. And I hope your nephew isn't down there alone. I've not really heard much about shelters.
