A leading anti-war Democrat is criticizing Senator Hillary Clinton on her stance on the war in Iraq.
Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha has been an outspoken critic of the war. Last year he called on the Bush administration to immediately withdraw American troops. Now in an interview airing tonight on NY1s Inside City Hall, Murtha is turning his tough talk on Clinton.
I have been disappointed. I've been disappointed she hasn't spoken out more forcefully. She's a leader in the Democratic Party -- she's probably going to be the nominee for president next year, said Murtha.
Asked whether Clinton would make a good president, Murtha had this to say:
There's an awful lot of things that she would bring to the nomination process, but this is one area where she has to step up at some point and I don't know whether it's related to New York politics or what it is, but I would hope that in the next few months she would make her position clear," said Murtha.
In response to Murtha's criticisms, a Clinton spokesman said: "Senator Clinton has been a clear and consistent critic of the way the Administration has handled the war and believes the Iraqis must step up so we can begin to bring our troops home."

He had better get some protection. Remember the story of Billy boy yelling to the Secret Service to "Come get the -itch off me"?
Bump.
I can't believe these RATs still don't realize just how right we were about her.
But that being said, gee...it couldn't happen to a nicer cretin...
He's going to wish the impending visit he will get soon enough from her agents was instead from...The Spanish Inquisition:
I have to wonder if this is Murtha joining in with the Kerry/Kennedy faction 100%, or giving Hillary room for "triangulation". Or both. He is a democrat politician after all.
How did this dude every survive to a ripe old age?
I don't know but Arkanside is not far away
Indeed it is, the Dems eating their own.
It seems Murthawi and his cut and run stance was emboldened by Lamont's win and now he thinks he can get some more mileage from the Beast. He might be making a costly mistake.
Fragging was rare, and was by definition done to incompetent field commanders who kept getting people killed (as opposed to a one time mistake). Murtha was a rear echelon type, for the most part. Fragging was not simply murdering people for being an a**hole - that is a hollywood attack on our troops.
She's doing the same think with Lamont...putting the money in the pot for their re-election but staying as the "tough" (pretend) Commander in Chief. She's getting splinters from straddling the fence.
and stay away from Arkansas.
Ahem.....somehow that just doesn't sound right. ewwwwww
You've got a point, she has definitely been straddling the fence and moreso with the polls of the last few months. I don't remember Lamont coming out and criticizing her like Murtha is though. Of course it could be a way to ease her into a complete change on her stance I guess.
Remember the ultimate goal the DNC is all about.
Yeah, that does sound a little bad.
Lamont's a newcomer. He needs all the money he can get. He can still lose this. Hillary wants the "seat". She could care less who was going to get it...as long as it's a Dem. Murtha has an accumulated following and funds.

If he wants to live longer, he needs to learn to not criticize Hillary and fly on planes...

Notice that ever since Cindy Sheehan criticized the HildaBeast that Sheehan is in and out of hospitals with one major illness after another???? Hmmmmm....
Now he's done it. Accuse marines of cold-blooded murder (get a pass), call Cheney a chiken hawk (get cheered), call Karl Rove a fat ass (get standing ovation); second guess Hillary - you are taking your politcal life in your own hands fella...
She didn't even take his name when they married. It was the good political thing to do.
What a team they are!! What a phony team!!
I don't think he's gotten a pass on his cold blooded murder remark. Come November I think that'll bite him in the butt when Diana Irey sends the old fool packing.
