Bless her heart. When my family came here from germany, after escaping the Kaiser, they were forbidden to ever mention Germany as their homeland, and the names of their twin boys were changed (at Ellis Island) to "Sam and John", which they considered to be good solid American names.

So many people think they're entitiled to pillage these days, because they've been cheated, or their land has been "stolen". They're "owed". Ask what your country can do for you.

Affirmative action is not helping.

We are producing the next generation who can not compete in the world.

The ancestors of Mexicans were both European and Indian. And most of the poorer Mexicans have more Indian blood.

Who gives a rip? The Native Americans conquered and slaughtered each other, and took over each other's land, just as brutally and quickly as the Europeans did.

Jeeze mom, that reads like I nightmare I've been having recently. Sometimes I wish we had guts like the fine folks from down under.

CANBERRA AUSTRALIA: Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false.

If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to other country which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off". "Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

Exactly!

Both of my parents are legal immigrants (I'm first generation American, and proud of it! :) ) and if I had EVER acted in an unpatriotic way toward this country both of them would have slapped me clear across the room, then put me in a box and mailed me to the East Germany! Lol! Both of my parents changed their names to more American names, adapted to American culture, never accepted a single handout, went from dirt poor to very successful, and never missed a chance to show their love of this nation. Personally I think the freebies we give to the current wave of immigrants fosters a loathing rather than a love of this country. Socialism tends to do that...

My great grandma was going blind in her old age, and one day the postman came to bring her a disability check from the government, and she chased him off! Threatened to shoot him if he came back. That was very disgraceful back then- that you couldn't take care of yourself. People would have been ashamed.

My grandpa was too old to enlist in WWII adn felt horrible walking around town with the women, and boys who were left. -All the men were off fighting, and to be left behind was shameful. -Imagine that today.

Cost to Texas Taxpayers- FAIR
$4.7 Billion per year in gross taxpayer expenditures for illegal immigration, with a net $3.7 billion per year after deducting estimated taxes collected from illegal immigration. $725 per household taxpayer expenses

I've no idea if these are accurate or not, BUT I think the only way the American people are going to start paying attention to this stuff is when their POCKET books are affected. Putting illegal immigration into a real cost to households is a GREAT idea that needs to be made more public. I'm guessing the cost to the tax payers in Calif. and Texas is much higher than $725/year. I also think that price tag is going to go up dramatically before American tax payers start to 'get it'.

My great grandfathers on my mothers side fought on opposite sides in "the great war". One escaped Germany prior to the war and the other did not. When everyone got here the children were forbidden to speak German and the adults spoke only english outside the home. Our family names were also changed to sound more American.

When Tatyana arrived last fall, an American flag was one of the first things she wanted so I bought a flag and a mounting bracket and mounted it outside her bedroom window.

We've been waiting for years for that check but we haven't been holding our breath. LMAO
