Quote of the Day:
President Bush: "[Katrina] brought terrible scenes we never thought we'd see in AmericaWhen the rain stopped, this wounded city was laid bare and our television screens showed faces worn down by poverty and despair. And for most of you, the storms were only the beginning of your difficulties
"A year ago, I made a pledge that we will learn the lessons of Katrina and that we will do what it takes to help you recover. We looked at what went right and what went wrong, and we're addressing that which went wrong."
The people of the Gulf Coast can know that at the federal level, and at the state level, and at the local level... we're better prepared."
Photo of the Day:
President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush look on as J.D. Hill puts an American flag on his new house built by Habitat for Humanity on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 in New Orleans, La.

I complained a few weeks ago that the President had forgotten us(Mississippi), I was wrong, I admit it.Again I thank you Mr.President for keeping the promise you made. I disagree on some policies you have, but I can not dispute your integrity and honour.
You again have given faith to one that has little faith in anything.
God bless New Orleans. As a Louisiana native, I sure hope the city will have a rebirth that will make it better than it was before.
Good evening and thanks for the dose - lovely photo of the day.
