Unions don't understand that by fanatically supporting the democrat party they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction...

The Teamsters aren't the only ones saying it. The vast majority of truckers (non union) have been saying the same thing for several years now.

And the noise: suppose they'll have mufflers?
LOL!
California doesn't think so; I was contacted this morning by a person trying to learn how they can test these trucks for compliance with US noise regulations.

Hoffa adds: "If the Bush administration succeeds (with the NAFTA superhighway), American drivers and their families will be forced to share the roads with unsafe, uninsured trucks and millions of good-paying American jobs will be lost. And just one weapon of mass destruction in an unchecked container will be too many." It's hard believe that the Teamsters are concerned about jobs for Americans. They go out of their way to help organize marches in support of giving illegal aliens amnesty.
Rights Group Moves Ahead; Pro-Immigrant Rallies Planned (Goal: "Full Legalization")
"The main goal is full legalization" for all undocumented immigrants, said Miguel Lopez of Norwalk, a port representative for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

"The Bush administration hasn't given up on its ridiculous quest to open our border to unsafe Mexican trucking companies. In fact, Bush is quietly moving forward with plans to build the massive network of highways from the Mexican border north through Detroit into Canada that would make cross-border trucking effortless." Read my tag, follow the link and begin reading on page 23 of the .pdf file which is page one of the report.
I don't have much use for unions, but Hoffa is right: President Bush is bound and determined to let the illegals overrun our country. Go read the report.

- Public proposals for the superhighway calls for each corridor to be 1,200 feet wide with six lanes devoted to cars, four to trucks, with a rail line and utilities in the middle.
How about more rail lines for freight and less trucks? I thought we were all supposed to be concerned with saving energy.
I also wonder if this is just another step to tear down all the borders and create a huge, homogenized, third-world socialist country. "CanMexicUS"?

This is too funny as the unions support illegal aliens.
So they want illegal aliens, presumably to join unions, but they don't want "legal" aliens.

The EU already has this issue.
Unless you have uniform rules then you have lowest common denominator rules.
Basically Mexico and Canada should submit to the jurisdiction of the United States DOT rules across the board.
No Nafta new gov. Just pure United States.

Hoffa says the NAFTA superhighway plan would "allow global conglomerates to capitalize by exploiting cheap labor and non-existent work rules and avoiding potential security enhancements at U.S. ports." Left unsaid is that Mexico is building facilities at their Pacific coast ports. Stand by for a decline in imports through west coast US ports and an onslaught of imports through Mexican ports. They will need to be trucked north and teamsters won't be doing it. The union thugs are worried as well they should be.
We will finally be able to single finger the longshoreman's union, the corrupto stato californiacate and stinkin teamsters. Unions and their rat allies are forcing shippers out of west coast ports and into Mexico.
