If you ever flew into Lexington from the North, you know that the approach brings you over those beautiful horse farms and then Keeneland racetrack, then finally very low over Versailles Road, hwy 60, immediately before the wheels touch down.

It wasn't too many years ago that a flight came in a few feet too low and slammed into a stone fence then plowed across Versailles Road. If this flight was taking off toward the North, then it is probably on Keeneland property or in a horse pasture.

Prayers for all onboard and for the families.

KLEX is built up on a hill top... lots of optical Illusions when landing 22... including the longitudinal turtle-back in the runway surface...

If I recall... isn't Versailles road on the north field boundary?
