I miss that summer past time.
But for the betterment of the idiots and attorney's in society I accept my loss of pleasure.

I do this and yes, it does work. Mine hang from my windchimes so they are moving most of the time, that may be a factor. I've been doing this for three years now. As you can see in the picture, we have horses so we have flies - but not at the house or in the house.

Nah, not anytime soon. Hopefully next year.
Thanks for bumping the thread though. My aunt’s house is lousy with these maggots. I’m going to seriously look into these solutions.
Playing exterminator just to enjoy a meal or use the computer is NOT my idea of “quality time”.

Okay you sound like the go to guy on chemical solutions to yard problems. What can I spray on a sandy weed patch to discourage neighborhood cats from using it as a toilet? Thanks in advance :~>

How funny! You and I were just talking about this last night and someone reactivated an old thread about it.

It does work. I’m in sales...have been in lots of open businesses...first time I saw the plastic bags containing water hung throughout an establishment was in Anahuac, Texas in the local beer joint. I ask why...they explained the fly thingy [they got it from local horse stables...I understand that's where it started]...I had a place where I continued to have fly problems...so I tried it...it took about 1 to 2 weeks...then one day I noticed NO FLIES...it’s got to be done a certain way...my Dad tried it in his restaurant...they didn’t do it right so it didn’t work...

Saw this about 6-7 years ago at a restaurant in Frisco, TX (La Hacienda Ranch). I didn't know what the reason was until the hostess explained.
Speaking of, I went to a pizza joint (Olivella's) in Dallas last evening... plastic bag was hanging on the front enterence's door knob... first time in a few years I've seen it used.

Flies are not the problem in FLA - it’s the skeeters!
To: kalee
And to think that had we not gone to see that house for sale that had ziplock baggies with water and pennies in them...and sweetie and I hadn’t been giving each other the oddest looks in the presence of our realtor, I would have never heard of this. We didn’t find any flies in the house, but then again, we didn’t even look at the entire house. It just “wasn’t us.” LOL

So now, being called, "Ya old bag!" takes on a new, environmentally-friendly meaning. "
No, it means "you're so ugly you scare away flies".
