The more you apologize, the guiltier you look.
His PR team has pissed down their leg on this one. Terrible job on their part. He would have been better off calling his brother Bruce and having one of the Tampa Bay Bucs PR people handle this one.

I've lost a lot of respect for Allen in this episode. He keeps falling into this apology trap and still hasn't learned his lesson. I don't think I can support him for president after this. It seems he's just a wimp.
Allen should say "I've already addressed the error." and decline further comment

When W made fun of that guy with the bad eyes and sunglasses...W called him and apologized. The media tried to run with it but W just dropped it so the story died.

It doesn't matter. That's not a snowball's chance in hell that Allen won't win reelection. He's a good man and Virginians know that (except maybe some knuckleheads in NORVA).
