Hitler was a great evolutionist/Darwinist. Survival of the fittest, and he was going to be the fittest.

Historically, there is simply no question that Darwinism was a powerful influence on Nazi thinking. If Mr. Foxman and the ADL are in denial about this, shame on them.

Interesting, author William Shirer referred to Mein Kampf as "crude Darwinism" among other things.

The concept of the book is ridiculous. Did Hitler use Darwin's theory? Absolutely! Hitler stole what ever was around that fit his agenda, that does not mean the originators caused Hitler. Saying that Darwin caused the holocaust is like blaming blitzkrieg on Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler and Orville and Wilbur Wright.

Hitler himself claimed his idea was scientific

I don't know if this video is "over the top" or if the ADL is going nuts again.

Trivializing the Holocaust comes from either ignorance at best or, at worst, a mendacious attempt to score political points in the culture war on the backs of six million Jewish victims and others who died at the hands of the Nazis....

...and others?? Millions and millions of 'others'.

The ADL trivializes the murders of millions and millions of 'others'.

ADL Blasts Christian Supremacist TV Special & Book Blaming Darwin For Hitler

What's the deal with slingling around terms like "Christian Supremacist"? Any serious Christian believes his Faith to be the Truth, and that ultimately Christ has dominion over all.

That does not make Christians any more "supremacist" than one who believes that people of his tribe/Creed are the "Chosen People." I have seen no Christians, certainly not that of the evangelical variety, describing Jews as "Hebrew Supremacists" or anything of the sort.

The saintly XIX century triplets Karl, Sigmund and Charles inspired a lot of the XX century utopian ideologies, and their executioners, no question about it, except, evidently, among the members of their fan clubs. "There is nothing wrong with the socialist theory", is a famous quote uttered by several Communist leaders, Fidel among them, "it's the PEOPLE!"

Actually, Hitler drew more inspiration from Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger than they did from Darwin. They had a lot in common those two.

I fail to see how it trivializes the horrors of the holocaust. That is a totally bogus charge. He may disagree with Kennedy's premise, but that's no reason to make phone accusations.

Oh, and as for the Christian supremacist stuff.....Kennedy just wants the judges to stop claiming that morality is an invalid basis of law. And any morality Kennedy subscribes to is dervived first from Judaism, so I hardly think it leaves Christians as supreme. Free? Yes! Supreme? Get outta here.

This is the kind of controversy that develops when small minds learn a little bit of something that is much bigger than they are.

I'm no fan of Kennedy's, and I don't know if the premise of this DVD is true or not.

What I want to know is how does the DVD trivialize the Holocaust? If there is no connection, or a tenuous one at best, between Darwinian theory and Nazism, and Kennedy's outfit is saying Darwinism is bad and -- see?-- it's the source of Nazism, then he's just doing what tends to be done these days whenever there is a discussion of evil -- tie it to Nazism whether there is a basis for it or not. I could see how Foxman might take offense at that, if that is what the DVD does.

But I don't see the problem with exploring the intellectual foundations and influences of Nazism, if done in a proper and valid way. There was an intellectual foundation to it -- it wasn't just Hitler's pure irrational rotteness.

This is an outrageous and shoddy attempt by D. James Kennedy to trivialize the horrors of the Holocaust.

How is it trivializing it ?

I wonder how Abe would feel about mentioning planned parenthood and Hitler, given that the founder of PP was a strong proponent of eugenics...

>>>"It must be remembered that D. James Kennedy is a leader among the distinct group of 'Christian Supremacists' who seek to "reclaim America for Christ" and turn the U.S. into a Christian nation guided by their strange notions of biblical law."<<<

No, it was the founders of this nation that "turned the U.S. into a Christian nation". It was communists and false "Jews", like Foxman, that have turned this nation from a God-fearing, moral nation into another Sodom and Gomorrah.

"I find the thesis of Dr. Kennedy's program utterly misguided and inflammatory"

A lol of huffing and puffing, but I note that Mr. Collins does not manage to squeeze the word "false" in, here. I'm also wondering how the ADL came to the conclusion that Darwin is somehow trivial?

Those who make the argument that the Holocaust was a consequence of Charles Darwin are implicitly rejecting the influence of centuries of Christian anti-semitism. They are, in my opinion, engaging in a mild form of Holocaust denial.

It seems indisputable that Hitler based his ideas on his understanding of Darwin. Whether Hitler understood Darwin correctly or not is another matter. It seems that these days, we need to re-invent Darwin in light of what we now know. We need to explain what Darwin MEANT.... or would have meant if he had the advantage of our hindsight.

As with Darwin, so Kant, Hegel, Rousseau, Freud, Marx, Alinsky and many others have produced various spinoff schools with different flavors of leftist heresy.

Let me guess: Dr. D. James Kennedy got his doctorate at some nutjob unaccredited religeous nutjob mill.

What a nutjob.

Congratulations, anti-darwin nutjobs. Your Howard Dean has appeared. Line up.
