You are correct in "that is a big if."

Most people who believe in "recreational sex" use some means of protection, both from pregnancy and STDs. What are the odds?

But it is that "if" that maybe things if they are just right they are worried about.

The argument can be made for the opposite. What if everything was just right and the egg was fertilized. This pill enduces murder.

"Get a grip on yourself"

????????????? whatever that means!

I happen to be pro life too but pro birth control. I just don't think of this as murder.

I am a Christian, and so am against abortion which is murdering helpless babies, but there is another reason to stop this abortion pill. It kills those who take it in appalling numbers. There was a story written about the abortion pill in a magazine -- Ladies Home Journal, I think. People should read about hos this pill kills the women who take it.

We pay the price for our actions, yes, we do.

There have been plenty of medical cases where a spermicide has killed a fertilized egg - after conception, but that isn't your argument.

Before conception: The "you guys" that I belong to believes that intercourse is a three-way bond between the man, woman and God. Intercourse should never be entertained by removing God from the equation. Allowing God into the bond, allows God to dictate whether a life will be created or not.

Birth control is an in-your-face slammed door to God; hence prohibiting a life that He may have intended from being born. We look upon that as the worst of sins. Denying life = murder.

I have no heartburn with people who do not hold these beliefs using birth control. We have a forgiving God. He said: "Forgive them for they know not what they do." It doesn't change the wrongness of the act.

It all depends upon where you draw the line and say, "NOW it's a human being." I draw that line where the Law of Biogeneis draws it: at conception.

Given that, I oppose the use of any drug or contraceptive method that could prevent the implantation of a viable embreyo.

Was the article you refer to about this drug or RU4-86?

You don't get that there's nothing more to this pill than The Pill, do you, and that contraception doesn't even happen so there's nothing to kill.

"What was he thinking?"

Actually it is pretty simple. It is all in the higher dose. Someone will take this pill (freedom to be dumb), have a stroke and die or become disabled, there will be a lawsuit following that will have this pill pulled for good.

LOL. I'm stunned. These same people must be opposed to The Pill. All I can say is, I'm delighted they aren't in charge.

So you're opposed to the Pill too. The birth control pill. Glad you aren't in charge. That's all I have to say.

Please consider the fallacy of your argument. You state that the fact IS I will never know whether a woman prevented fertilization or implantation. Well then, neither will you! The mere "fact" that it's unknown should give anyone that is pro-life more than a little concern. Are you seriously contending that just because a woman isn't aware if she prevents a fertilized egg from implantation that makes this okay?

True, I will never know either. Obviously. You ask if it makes it o.k. because she may not be aware of whether she prevented a fertilized egg from being implanted? Yes.

I used contraceptions when I was younger, that prevented fertilization too. Is that bad? No. Is it any of your business or anyone elses? No. Who will judge? God.

This pill prevents pregnancy so explain how that harms the unborn. Been saying for a long time some of you are way over the top and don't bother to read what is happening. People like you turn off people to the pro-life movement just like the jerks that stuck abortion photos in my daughter's face and caused her nose to bleed and knocked off my son's glasses on campus wanting to make a point. Irrational comments without facts do not aid the pro-life movement at all!

I agree. It is a typical knee jerk reaction. Some say it prevents implantation, others say it prevents fertilization. Huge difference. Knowing the facts would be helpful. As a nurse, this is how I have undertsood the drug works; by preventing fertilization in the first place. Not that different than spermacides, etc. Of course some people are opposed to all birth control measures so to them ,then, well...it would be irrelevant.

I agree with you too. And yes, facts would be helpful, but I've found that facts are usually ineffective arguments when one is arguing with brick walls. ;)

I get that there's more to what this pill does than that. I laid it out in post 131...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1687558/posts?page=131#131

...then poster garv pulled it right off of the manufacturer's website in post 132.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1687558/posts?page=132#132

It seems to me that I've got a good handle on the three different effects this drug can have; it's pretty straightforward. Yes, there's a "primary" way that Plan B works, but it also works in the other two ways. So, factually, it CAN prevent implantation of a fertilized egg and, as such, would have an abortive effect, destroying a perfectly viable human being. No risk of that happening is acceptable.
