Gallagher vs Crist (Florida)
Vanity

Posted on 08/20/2006 6:35:22 PM PDT by GOPsupporterFL

Tom Gallagher may be a new conservative (for 5-6 years now) but even when he was liberal he was no more liberal than Charlie Crist is now.

Crist is known to be pro-choice, pro-huge spending increases, which would only lead to tax increases.

In a general election match up against Davis or Smith he was ahead till he started airing commercials. On top of all his liberal flaws, the electorate doesn't seem to like him which was the original reason people were flocking to him instead of Gallagher. Now Gallagher is the more electable choice.

With 2 weeks to go to the primary we've got to wake up. We've got to make sure that an electable conservative, even a reformed conservative, wins the primary instead of a liberal, who's liberal on every issue and is now masquerading as a conservative. His posturing won't fly and will turn off voters.

I wish Jeb were able to run for a 3rd term which is the sense I'm getting from all other Republicans. But between Gallagher and Crist we've got to go with Gallagher and somehow get the word out.

I never asked for you to ping me to anything...

The democrats figured out a way that they win no matter what. They pick a liberal Republican, support him/her through fundraisers as has occured with Crist. Even if their dem candidate for governor does not win, the dems still win because they have a liberal in conservative clothing that will still help them with their agenda.

The dems have such a man in their corner in District 8 Senate and that is Jim King. He is so much in the dems corner that they have not even bothered to put anyone up against him for years. King has run unopposed by dems for years now.

The dems have figured it out but somehow the conservatives just don't get it.

Crist is a establishment Republican and likes to be in the welcome list of liberal newspapers in Southflorida, unlike Gallagher who tries to appeal to ordinary Florida residents.

I quit reading newsmax a long time ago. I'm for Gallagher. You are giving Crist too much credit. People have been enabling him for years.

Crist "This is America. I can wear whatever I want. I believe in freedom." (fifth grader talking points).

Watch the debates. That's all I am going to do from here on out, I am early voting and then that's it for me no matter who wins the race.

What I really do is a lot more exciting than politics. The primary is my last stop. I've been working at the grassroots level since 2000 without a stop. I'm taking a break after the primary.

Maybe some newbies will listen to your Crist talking points. His own football team from St. Pete High is voting for Tom Gallagher. The closer you live to Crist, the more you know and the less you think of him.

I am so looking forward to joining the ranks of people who now call themselves independents. There are just too many RINOS and outright liberals in disguise who snuck into Florida's GOP party. I will vote person, not party from here on out.

Charlie Crist is NOT solidly pro-life. He is one of the republicans who stood idly by while TERRI SCHIAVO was being tortured to death for fourteen days. His Deputy Clay Roberts stopped an ongoing investigation back in 2003 or 2005. Clay Roberts is Crist's current advisor.

A person cannot be PRO-LIFE if they play a role in the killing of a disabled person and if they are for embryonic stem cell reseach (funded by the govt). Crist's pro-life claims are HOGWASH. With all due respect.

I have a problem with a man who has a mistress living in a condo that is the property of him and his wife, breaking into homes to steal dogs, pot smoking, etc.

If his wife can't trust him how can you?

If Crist is tough on crime, why did he let his friend Judge Greer murder TERRI SCHIAVO

We live in a rule-of-law country. Crist's job was to uphold the law - not to invent it out of whole cloth. And here, I'll share my feelings with you on this subject - I was on the side of Terri's parents. I felt there was enough doubt in the situation that common sense would dictate she be allowed to live. But that's not how our system worked. Not that time.

I'm not the standard for all questions legal - and you aren't either. I drove out to the Hospice Center Terri was at, and stood with the people who were trying to save her. When our side lost in a court of law, I felt sad - but I didn't feel above the law. Her case was unusual.

I have a living will, and I want it enforced - by law. If you don't like that law, you can work to change it. Terri's case and her issues were different from the standard end of life issues. I don't know how Charlie feels about the issue of prolonging the misery of an elderly person's life - when that life is wracked with pain from a terminal illness. I hope Charlie would understand that doctors, patients, and loved ones have some standing. We all need to work on better laws - Charlie has the sensitivity to help with that process. As do you who care so deeply, and me, who does too.

If Charlie is so tough on criminals how come he doesn't put behind bars murderers caught red handed on video tape? Oh, because the boy was a delinquent, and ugly, and black, and poor. Not good material for Saturday Night on America's Most Wanted. Now if they had murdered a pretty white girl, that would be telegenic and good for ratings. And the murderers? Cops. Kinda tells you why they got his support.

I just read your home page - and I'm totally impressed. You've earned your stripes. You fought the good fight for Terri - and for disabled patients everywhere. There will be other battles - hopefully, I'll be there with you...

How "pro-life" is a guy who praises activist judges for ordering the forced dehydration death of an innocent woman?

I think you missed some of the battles, but there are still battles going on now. You're cordially invited.

Haleigh Poutre is a little girl in Massachusetts who was beaten nearly to death by her adoptive mother and step father. She suffered brain damage, and was on a respirator and feeding tube for a while. DSS stepped in, and obtained a court order allowing them to remove her from life support and the feeding tube. The public (including us) found out what was going on, and raised a stink. Miraculously, Haleigh "started" showing signs of improvement. In actuality, she was already off the respirator at this point. DSS hadn't bothered to go see her, but the doctor had told them she was off the respirator. They didn't bother telling this to the judge before the court order was issued, even though they knew. After the lashing they took from the public and the media, they announced that they would wait a year before using the open-ended court order that allows them to kill her. Her natural mother won the right to visit her for fifteen minutes every two weeks. She (and others) reported that Haleigh was doing well. About a month ago, DSS cut off all visits from her natural mother, who was the only relative allowed to visit her. There has been no news about her, or her condition, in about a month. Nobody can find out anything. For all we know, she could be dead. And they have a court order that lets them off the hook if they kill her.

Scott Thomas is a Jacksonville, FL man, who was injured in a suspicious incident at home. His wife claims he tripped over the dog, but he has tried to communicate something that seems to be an accusation that she caused his injuries. He's brain damaged, but cognizant. His mother now has temporary custody of him, but his wife continues to petition the court for custody. She has indicated a desire to have his feeding tube removed.

Mae Maguirk, Sun Hudson, and so many others... May they rest in peace.

You haven't read Cheryl Ford's book, have you? Our Fight For Terri.

http://www.ourfight4terri.com/

There is no rule of law in Florida. You will never see me picked at jury selection because I would only go to make a speech about how corrupt the justice system in Florida is and they would dismiss me immediately but I would make sure and speak my mind before being ejected.

It would have been more valiant if Charlie Crist had upheld his oath of office instead of Terri having to depend upon me and millions of strangers.

Changing "the law" is impossible because of politics. It can't get out of committee. If you want to kid yourself about the culture of death, that's fine.

Florida's got Disney World and theme parks for fun, but Florida's also been infiltrated by forces who embrace a culture of death and they are embracing Charlie Crist.

Judge Greer is Charlie Crist's hero. My heroes don't hurt innocent women!

Charlie Crist doesn't know much about Florida law. His landlord was claiming a homestead on Crist's rental condo.

says Crist has a jag. the thought of him in a jag grosses me out. totally.

Thanks. I got it from Joe Browser. Excellent side by side comparison. NewsMax just sold us down the river. Seems they'll go after any perceived winner. When that happens the voters eventually bolt, if not now then in four years after voters have had enough of John Kerry light.

Crist was ahead until he started airing commercials. Now Davis is almost neck and neck with him. 'nuf said about his "electability."

Check this out. The Fraternal Order of Police "narrowly endorsed Crist".

It takes some digging to find the truth.

GOPJ,

I got the NewsMax email and was flabberghasted. It's full of bunk to put it nicely. NewsMax is headquartered in FL and maybe their editorial staff are personal friends of Crist. Let me tell you this. I was going to support Crist, relunctantly, until I saw the piece from Schiavo's father. What bothered me most was the arrogance Crist had shown by ducking the man in the halls and his praise of judges who turned this into a personal battle instead of a legal issue. At that point I was not ready to bolt just yet but was concerned enough to look at his position on the issues. Lo and behold, the guy's John Kerry light. He may even have the same arrogant streak and cold heartedness as Kerry. He's no conservative. Florida isn't California or Rhode Island and we don't need to elect a John Kerry Republican.
