In her Vermont town, precious few knew Catherine Mayo

BRAINTREE, Vt. --An enigma on Flight 923, Catherine Mayo was a mystery in her small Vermont town, too.

Mayo, 59, caused a major scare when she passed notes to crew members, urinated on the floor and made cryptic remarks to crew members on the London-to-Washington, D.C., flight.

Her attorney, federal public defender Page Kelley, said Mayo was "just barely lucid" when they spoke. "She's got some very serious mental health problems," said Kelley.

"An enigma on Flight 923, Catherine Mayo was a mystery in her small Vermont town, too."

Enigma? What's the next harmless, lovely, fuzzy MSM catch phrase? The "Invisible Terrorist"?

Instead of a drivers license, why not a Air Passenger license, and do criminal background checks, immigration checks, so people who fly often can be CLEARED quickly for boarding, the could put their finger print on a pad on a nationwide Clearance Board for Passenger list, to check to see if the photo ID matches, and do the full search to people who haven't done a background check?

It occurs to me that if she were the average, run-of-the-mill nut case, the MSM wouldn't be spending so much time trying to get us to feel sorry for her.

"She's got some very serious mental health problems,"

She's apparently a journalist per what Rush mentioned on his show today, that could explain things. (oapologies to the good ones out there)

Wonder if she is one of those that is a stakeholder in the NSA suit that the Judge ruled in favor of the ACLU etc

"I guess she just had a bit of a bad time on the plane and everybody's a little paranoid," he [Mayo's son] said.

No, everybody was NOT paranoid, place the blame where it belongs - your mother's behavior was totally bizarre and inappropriate especially considering the current terrorist-sensitive environment and the crew responded in EXACTLY the right way.

there's a Catherine Mayo described as a Journalist with some connection to Pakistan, who has made some serious moonbat posts over the last couple of years.

It would not surprise me if she was an AQ recruit. She was reported to have spent 2 months in the Pakistani mountains, out of contact with her usual job writing leftist rants in a Pakistani paper.

Apprently AQ does not have qualified psychiatrists or psychologists to ascertain that she is a moonbat with a personality disorder. But, they were smart enough to test her out on a trial flight. Looks like she blew her audition.

She can always get work at the Lamont campaign or the DNC. Again, if any out there want to sit out the '06 and '08 elections because the Republicans don't score 100 on your list, this is what we will get if the dimcrats win.
