Not to antagonize Red Sox Nation, but isn't it the Yankees who have had to hang tough? They lost their two corner outfielders and until buying Abreu at WalMart, had to patch together a line up with the likes of Bubba Crosby. I don't say this as a yankee fan for if Saddam Hussein had a baseball team I'd root for them against the Yankees, but in the interests of accuracy.
Completely agree, and I'm a Sox season ticket holder. Given the Yankees' "depleted" roster this season, and the fact that GayRod sucks, the Sox should be 5 or 6 up on the Yanks right now, not 1.5 back. The TB/KC 1-5 road trip was an unmitigated disaster, and the 1-2 homestand v. Detroit didn't help things either.Jason Johnson sucks, Lester is fresh out of diapers, Beckett is turning into Waybeckett, and Wells is a crapshoot. The only guy who's a guaranteed gamer is Schilling.
