You know, the vast majority of liberals that I know would also encourage a few shots to the back of this guy's head. And as a liberal, I can agree with that sentiment, as well.

Though I doubt anyone, including the vast majority of liberals, would take people seriously if they tried to say all pedophiles are such. A great deal of it is to be found in their upbringing and a whole lot of other factors.

We are choices that we make. Unless you are in the middle of some sort of psychotic break (and if you are subject to those you should be locked up) all your choices are voluntary.

Any boilogical link to pedophilia is a link to a natural sexual urdge, which is misplaced, and misdirected. Nowhere in our history has kiddy-rape been acceptable behavior (with the exception of the Mohammedans and THE other perverted groups like NAMBLA). It is just plain wrong. You sound as if you are an apologist for them, is some ways.
Child rapists are a perverse scum, on a level with homosexuals. They are an abomination and a cancer on society. I would argue they are all sub-human, since their only goal is sexual perversion and physical gratifications, instead of nurturing the human race!
The Psychaitrists are apologists for every human deviancy, so I would expect no less from them! They will find a pill for it, or proscribe 20 $95 half-hour sessions on the couch and a pat on the butt!
There is a biological link to just about everything. That doesn't exempt humans from being free moral agents with choices. While many liberals might be outraged by this guy, I think his "rights" argument has a better chance in front of a liberal judge than a conservative judge.

Now for your comment, That guy in the story was not normal, he was suffering from a disease. It was a mentally driven disease that was suspected of causing him to act out his anti-social behavior.
This just happens to be the general theory of what drives liberalism in the United States. However, I think there are several drivers that cause people to be liberal (I used to be liberal when I was young).
1. Indoctrination by parents or peers.
2. Mental disease.
3. Lack of education on what conservatives actually stand for: self determination, freedom, and responsibility, which all go hand in hand.
4. Lack of education on what liberalism stands for: ultimate govenrment control, restrictions on other's freedom, and their shirking of any form of responsibility.
Most libs don't understand that freedom means EVERYONE is free.
They think, as in this instance, "OK, I'm free to have sex with a disabled kid", neglecting that all other people have their freedom too, such as the freedom from being accosted by such a sick bastard.

There is a sound genetic link in me to want to hurt pedophiles so bad they can't repete their crimes. I can't help it, I was born that way. First the thought of anyone hurting children (and I have three) makes me want to retch, then the genetic defense systems really get to going and I don't care to go into detail.
