Murtha served on active duty during the Korean conflict but never left the U.S.I know, also he didn't become an officer until after he completed college and joined the reserves, however you'd never know that from this article.

Murtha served on active duty during the Korean conflict but never left the U.S. That is absolutely correct ... Murtha did not serve in Korea. Nor did he leave the shores of the U.S. while serving in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
