I am shocked, surprised and deeply saddened.
IT is Bush's fault.

It would be interesting to find out the condition of the Christian town of Marjayoun. If it is reasonably intact, you can bet that Hizbollah will want to take names and level that city and its inhabitants...Look to hear about some atrocities in some of the Maronite villages over the next few weeks or months...The atrocities will be described in a small paragraph on one of the back pages of our newspapers...Not a finger will be raised to protect them.

I also am shocked! And appalled!!
Why, I just KNEW the cease-fire would
mean everyone sits around a campfire
sharing marshmallows and hot dogs and
singing "Kumbaya"!!!
I am deeply concerned at this outcome.
Never saw it coming...

Why should they? In a showdown between Hezbollah and the Lebanese constabulary, who does anyone suppose would win?

As long as there is no shooting, the air conditioners are in proper working order, supplies and food show up routinely and all promise not to be mad at France, they will lead the effort and send some troops. Here is another opportunity for France to surrender. They don't want to dissappoint anyone.

Lebanon's Defense Minister Elias Murr said the Lebanese army would send 15,000 troops to the north of the Litani River around the end of the week, ready to enter the southern border area. But he said the army would not disarm Hizbollah guerrillas, who have controlled the area for six years. "The army is not going to the south to strip Hizbollah of weapons and do the work Israel did not," he told LBC Television. Then obviously Israel needs to finish the job themselves.
Goodbye ceasefire.

There is nothing that happens in DC that isn't political. The administration has milked this for all of the political capital possible. And as the political tide starts to turn they're ready to move on to something else.

I'd also say I'm shocked....But that would be redudant.
I'm just saddened that the leftists in the West have failed...AGAIN... to realize their terrorist allies are not friends of the left and only want to kill EVERYONE who is not of their brand of Islam.
Leftists, that includes you if you are too full of bile and stupidity to understand. I actually think the radical left is at the top of the terrorists' "lazy, corrupt infidels I want to kill/enslave today" list. But then, when taken into captivity by terrorists, the left seems to go right to "dhimmitude" as seen in multiple examples. So maybe that is what the left wants.
If so, leftists, may the chains of Islamic slavery rest lightly on your shoulders as you are working so hard to forge them.

Yep. The deal was Hez would disarm to the Lebanese authority. Both of these have said they wouldn't in violation of what they agreed to do.
Now, we wait for Rice, Bolton and Olmert's response.

Our State Dept did. Hell, the IDF had 5 weeks to wipe out Hezbo but thier weak PM Olmert hesitated and didn't trust his Generals. We gave them as much time as we could, plenty of time unfortunately we have a lawyer trying to prosecute a war, just like we got here in the US since WW2.
Nothing will be accomplished until PC is taken out of the context of war in the minds of western leaders.
To: TheKidster
seems as though our state dept. should stop bowing at the alter of PC.
five weeks......???
Even I know this type of war takes longer than 5 weeks.
Now don't go hurting no civilians. Be PC.

So Hezbol gains the most by rearming and recharging and Israel back in the position prior to war. Sounds to me Hezbol won round one. Did the IDF die in vain?
