There is nothing that happens in DC that isn't political. The administration has milked this for all of the political capital possible. And as the political tide starts to turn they're ready to move on to something else.
Our State Dept did. Hell, the IDF had 5 weeks to wipe out Hezbo but thier weak PM Olmert hesitated and didn't trust his Generals. We gave them as much time as we could, plenty of time unfortunately we have a lawyer trying to prosecute a war, just like we got here in the US since WW2.
Nothing will be accomplished until PC is taken out of the context of war in the minds of western leaders.
