Bush's Anti-Terrorism Record
(CBS/AP) SCHENECTADY, N.Y. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, a possible contender for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2008, on Monday criticized the Bush administration for failing to do enough to protect the country from terrorists.
Clinton's comments came after authorities in the United Kingdom last week said they thwarted a terror plot involving airplanes bound from Britain to the United States. Conspirators allegedly planned to blow up as many as 10 planes flying from Britain to the United States using liquid explosives, which the U.S. Transportation Security Administration's security equipment cannot detect in carry-on luggage.
"We've done some things right," the New York senator said at a community event in Schenectady. "Obviously we've beefed up airport security in some ways, but as we've learned over the last week not in every way that matters. We still have not done what we need to do to protect our ports, our borders, our bridges, our transit systems, our rail lines, it's a long list.
"I don't think our long-term strategy for homeland security is yet what it needs to be," she said.
Department of Homeland Security officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

My sentiments exactly. All these critics out there...saying the President "hasn't done enough." But when you ask what they would do, well, they either have no answer or the solution they have is so lame, it's laughable. Attack, attach, attack...but offer no viable alternative.
Re: the amusing picture:
Thank God for the pillow.
Ditto that.
That's right, she voted for the Iraq war...and...and...and...??
mumb ditch.
"We still have not done what we need to do to protect our ports, our borders, our bridges, our transit systems, our rail lines, it's a long list."
By all means tells us what Bush did wrong, and what he should have done.
She makes me sick!
Just once I would love to hear what the other plan is. If it's a good plan she can have all the credit. I don't care who makes our country safer just do it.
I just can't wait for "ex" to preceed senator in her name.
Clinton diddled while 'Rome' burned.
For the luvva Pete, how do even the Dims stand her?
Agreed - You wouldn't think that PREVENTING ten airplanes from being blown out of the sky would be listed in Webster's under "failure." If this is a failure, I'd hate to see Mrs. Cankles definition of a success.
I'm waiting for "indicted"....

Reading the article, I imagined Hitlery bending over, displaying her fat backside and cankles, and letting loose a blast.
I've been trumped. So much the better. Nice going. :)
August 20, 1998 - The Clinton Administration demonstrates a perfunctory response toward terrorism after the assault on two U.S. embassies in Africa. On Aug. 7, 1998. The U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, were bombed by terrorists, leaving 258 people dead and more than 5,000 injured.
The U.S. Launches cruise missiles, striking an empty terrorism training complex in Afghanistan and destroying a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Khartoum, Sudan. Both targets were claimed to have been financed by Osama bin Laden, but many feel that the ill-planned strike was simply done to deflect legal problems President Clinton was having with Monica Lewinsky. There was no follow-up and Bin Laden was buoyed by our meek approach to the growing terrorist menace.
October 12, 2000 - Terrorism strikes and almost sinks the Destroyer USS Cole in Yemen. President Bill Clinton does nothing. Reinforces the perception that the United States lacks the will to either defend itself or battle terrorism in spite of considerable loss of life. There was no follow-up.
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured
1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted
down and punished.
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five US military
personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down
and punished.
After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19
and injured 200 US military personnel; Clinton promised that those
responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1998 bombing of US embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and
injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible! would be hunted
down! and punished.
After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39
US sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down
and punished.
More and more dems can't stand the beast.
Has a great sense of timing, eh? I can hardly wait to see her thrown overboard in 2008.
She's psychotic.
