GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.
The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.
The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.
The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalist's transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to the bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.
The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.
Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.
Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces
There is one group who doesn't.
AQ.
That is some really bad news. I did not realize that AQ does not announce their kidnappings. Prayers out for these two men.

Sorry about the double post.
That's okay
That's okay
(sorry)
I try to keep the faith, but for some reason hearing his wife make her appeal added to my apprehension.
This is what is so scary. When Jennifer Griffith or MIke Tobin report from Israel they are straight shooters, So straight I say to myself (NOT proud of myself) 'I don't care about the Pali's.' They are very honest about the human toll. Steve Centanni is the same way.
So it is not in the best interests of the usual suspects to kidnap him.
That's why I am starting to come over to the the theory that it is not the usual Pali suspects.
Has anyone heard if the van has been found?
It has not been reported to have been found, only that they had ID'ed it.
I couldn't agree more with whoever says the silence is deafening.
I'm guessing that it was either some wannabe terrorists who took Steve and Olaf without realizing who they had taken (got in over their head) and did the unspeakable to keep from being found out, or it's al'qaeda.
Quite frankly, I've had a sick, sinking feeling in my gut since day one. I hope to God that they are alive and will be released but with every passing day, it just doesn't look good.
When is the last time Jennifer Griffin has done *any* live reports at all? I haven't seen her in a couple days, except on a video when one of the FOX cast was reporting on the abduction. I know she's working her butt off behind the scenes to find those two men. I'm praying for her as well, that she keeps her wits about her and stays safe. Mike too.
BTTT
Thanks for the ping!! Still praying and waiting their safe return. God help them and their families. I cannot imagine...
HEADS UP!!!!
FOX getting ready to broadcast appeal from Steve Centanni's family.
(7:10 now, they are at commercial)
Semper, I am bumping this
bttt
Thanks..
(No one ever seems to be at home when I have news, LOL!)
Another bump for you.
Now I'm gonna cry.....
Don't cry yet. Better to offer a prayer.
Day 6 (Saturday) Updates from mediabistro.com:
12:47 PM FNCers Kidnapped In Gaza: Correspondent Jennifer Griffin Speaks At DemonstrationStill not one goddamned word. Nothing.Above, FNC correspondent Jennifer Griffin, Olaf Wiig's wife Anita McNaught, and members of the Palestinian Journalists' Union demonstrate in Gaza City.
"Palestinian journalists in Gaza protested on Saturday against the kidnapping of a Fox News correspondent and cameraman, as concern about the men's safety grew," the AP reports.
Griffin called the kidnapping a "test for the Palestinian people." "We don't care who kidnapped them, we want them returned unharmed. This is a very serious case for the Palestinians, for the Palestinian Authority," she said...
10:43 AM FNCers Kidnapped In Gaza: "First Time The Kidnappers Haven't Identified Themselves..."
AP: "Mustafa Wafi, a senior Palestinian security official, said the kidnapping was unusual because no demands have been made. 'This is the first time kidnappers haven't identified themselves or their demands,' Wafi said. 'Usually kidnappers announce who they are, sometimes as soon as they kidnap.'"
Also: Most of Anita McNaught's days "are spent in the FOX News bureau, under heavy police protection. Staff there describe her as composed and strong, but under tremendous stress..."
Fellow FReepers: Pray for Jennifer Griffin. Aside from attending this rally today, she is working every lead like a detective tring to find her pals.
I cannot tell you how furious I am at the bastards who have done this. But somehow I am still praying.
We are with you, Steve and Olaf.
Even though this is simply awful news, I thank you for the updates.
Prayers continue.
Always a prayer, sometimes with tears, but always a prayer.
