GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.
The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.
The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.
The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalist's transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to the bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.
The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.
Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.
Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces

Reports are coming in that the kidnappers look suspiciously like Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.
Christianne Amanpour has been identified as the driver of the getaway car.
(humor break)
Seriously, I am praying for Steve and his cameraman.

That is the truth. I am disgusted with FReepers who think savages kidnapping our citizens is funny. In fact, it is so out of character that I am willing to bet they are trolls. Sadly, it's not at all out of character for Free Republic anymore. This site is merely a shadow of its former great self.

That is the truth Halls, they are off their meds.
Coincidentally, they are now monitoring our threads for disparaging remarks about them.
Evil spawn of Castro...all of them.

True. They share something else too... What could it be? Hrm. Could it be a lame-ass moon god and a pedophile prophet?

Prayers for Steve and all in harms way over there.

I wonder if Nasrallah will use this to make a plea (order) for Centanni's release and thus come off as the humanitarian we all know he is?

Good call. ....could very well happen.

Speaking of Shep, he hasn't mentioned anything about this..so I have my doubts about the Drudge report. Jennifer Griffen was on about 2 hours ago "breaking" the story that 2 Fox News employees were kidnapped in Gaza. It was very awkward when she did it; there were no details, and Bridgette Quinn just said "more details coming up".

I can see Amanpour, but Olbermann and Matthews would mess their pants just thinking about being in Gaza.

Oh, I should have read your next post; I see that you aleady posted about Jennifer. And it was 1 hour ago, not 2 (as I said) :(

It has been changing since long ago. Who knows...you might not have liked it back in 98 when things were really serious, and the site was full of right wing conservatives. Although the conspiracy theory's were far more prevalent. The site was actually started to promote constitutional conservatism...And to rid out government corruption. I do notice that things change in waves. Sometimes shifting this way or that. What will get you banned at one moment becomes the common point of view in another time. Some times I hate the collective thought here, and sometimes people seem to wake up and realize that it not just about parties, but about principles. You learn to just ignore what you don't like for the most part. I agree that the joking is sometimes in poor taste and it distracts from the issues at hand. I have seen this guy reporting for Fox news many times and I find it in extremely poor taste for anyone to make a joke about a guy who is risking his life to bring us the news. I hope that he comes out of this OK. Somebody should keep bombing the crap out of these people if that does not happen to be the case.
