GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.
The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.
The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.
The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalist's transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to the bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.
The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.
Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.
Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces
I don't know who USA Today's source is, but they say a Fox spokesman confirmed it was Centanni (off the record). I posted a link upthread. Of course, USA Today has been known to be wrong ...

this is so sad!
ppppfffftttt....
:)
I'm hoping FNC has a very good ransom insurance policy. Money may spring them. THEN we can go in.
I think it was Hamas.
Prayers going up for Steve Centanni and the New Zealander cameraman...May God protect them from these savages and bring them home safely!!
sw
They may have different names ... but they all share the same goal and they are all terrorists, imo
I pray that they stay safe but IMO, paying a ransom is never a good idea. They get away with it and they will do it again.
If FNC pays money to get them back, then an even bigger bullseye goes on the back of every other journo over there...
Me too, Spectre. I can't imagine what his family is going through.
The president will be speaking from the State Department shortly and will take questions from reporters. I don't expect him to address this matter, but thought I'd mention it on this thread.
Let's not forget his coverage from Port Arthur during Hurricane Rita. Reporting in the rain and the 100 mph wind being blown around like a rag doll trying to keep the ball cap on to hide his bald spot. Silliest stand-up I've ever seen and they've been doing them since Rather in Carla in 1964 or something.
Anyone know how well Hezies and Hamas get along? They are both enemies of Israel. I highly suspect the timing of this kidnapping.
The types of replies I'm seeing at DU can only spring from a deep well of self-hatred. In all honesty, I feel more pity for them than disgust; they seem pretty miserable with their own existence.
I know that when I've gone through times in my life where I wasn't happy with myself, I tended to act out in ugly in ways towards others. Now, in my older years where I'm happy and satisfied with myself, that sort of behaviour is alien to me.
I do wonder what it would have been like if, in those days, I would have had a place to hang out with other tortured souls. I believe it would have only fed my ugly feelings and actions, instead of allowing me to get out in the real world and deal with them.
Okay, enough about DU from me. My best wishes and hopes for a speedy release for the kidnapped Fox crew.
Sheesh, you're right. Hard to keep all those terrorist straight.
I went through the thread briefly. They honestly believe FNC has "helped to destroy our country," and someone else says if it weren't for FNC, the situation in the M.E. wouldn't be this dire.
They're seriously delusional. This conflict has been raging forever. It's so childlike to blame the nearest scapegoat. Wait, in fact, my own children don't even do that. DU posters have less common sense than my 9-year-old?
Just turning on Fox TV and no mention of it yet. What the heck???? I wonder what they want!!!
Prayers for Centanni and the other one taken. God help them please!!!
I don't know the name of the woman he's with in this photo, however:
