More-moderate religious perspectives "do not have voice" within the media, says U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), and it's something he's working to change.
"I think it is unfortunate any time the media does not accurately portray the true beliefs of the American people," Obama, a member of Trinity UCC in Chicago, told United Church News. "There are millions of religious Americans who are offended when their faith is used as a tool to attack and divide, and who see a positive role for the church in solving both social and moral problems.

How are Christians supposed to be moderate when we're commanded to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength?

Apparently, Barack has never read Rev. 3:15-16:
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

Elections are won by winning the moderate vote.
Moderation is convincing yourself that watering down your bourbon by 50 percent will only result in your being half as intoxicated at the end of the night.

Actually, I think keats5 is right. To be a "moderate" would mean moderation, a little this, a little that. Which is totally against loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Its the Christians "in" the world who don't take seriously or literally the Bible. The ones who rationalize Gods word. They are the moderates. A little faith, a little rationale, a little rightiousness here, a little secularism there.

Would you tell your wife (or husband), "I love you, but in moderation" ?

Would you tell your wife (or husband), "I love you, but in moderation" ? A wife could probably get away with it.
A husband, wouldn't be a husband long, heck he might not be a man after saying that.
