USA and Israel are the target of terrorists who want to kill many, and intimidate us all. We need to stay on the offensive against Syria and Iran, until the fight is won.

It is also a sign of a broad based assault. If you are going for a narrow front, you keep the mines in place (assuming you have a known path through them). That way "just in case" your rear areas are protected.

Not watching Fox. Can you tell me why removing land mines is allegedly not a good thing?

I haven't watched Fox since Friday's Special Report. But in response to your question as John123 posted out here earlier.

"More importantly, Israel can now cross the border into Syria."

That's probably why it's not a widely reported event. It would be suicide on Syria's part.

Of course Syria may just be clearing land for gardening. :-)

I'd be stunned if they dared to cross the border unless Tehran wants to begin a bigger war.

I think its a feint. I think Hezbollah wants to give Israel reason to drag Syria into the conflict. If those tanks move 3 yards across the border, Israel will have no choice.

I am rooting for this thing to erupt, but I dont think it will.

No doubt this has been the topic of much discussion in the Syrian war colleges in the past 1/4 century. They have a plan. Can they execute?

Jennifer just reported that Israel shot down 2 unmanned drones. This must be that long range attack they've been bragging about.

[The tanks are Syrian and the Syrians are clearing the mines -- trying to take the Golan back?]

Threatening to take the most strategic military high place in Israel where the murdering terrorist islamics and their fascist friends could fire on all Israeli cities with accuracy.
Israel and the U.S. is at war and only the left wing friends of Islamic terrorists (the hate America democrats) don't know it.
So be it. God bless Israel and bible beleiving Christians as we enter the time of sorrows.

Sure! Just a minute.....hello, Mr. Assad? Say, are you in your palace right about now? Could you look around in your pencil drawer for a pair of glasses, oval lenses, brown frames? Oh, thanks. Just a minute... You in position? Drop the MOAB now! ...Oh, nothing, Mr. Assad. You found my glasses yet? Keep looking, please.

Can Tehran wait until 22 Aug if the Syrian front opens before?

"Big question is, if this is true, what will Israel do?"

If Olmert is prime minister, probably send a stiff protest note and then call for a UN session.

Doesn't Syria have Saddam's WMDs stored for a special occasion?

This is probably just Syria trying to force Israel to pull some armor out of Lebanon to the Israel-Syria border.

Count on this: Israel will move when they see an act of war

I think that's not true until the present gvt falls. Labor is incapable of conducting a war.

it is good if syria is on the offensive. [i] As the original T-62 is more than 40 years old, its obsolete 115 mm gun is understandably inadequate for combat against modern Western tanks.

I'm not saying that the totally obsolete Syrian armor wont get creamed, I'm just saying that if they attack then the entire Middle East is going to explode into open war. It is going to anyways, probably sooner than later. It will be ugly. War always is.

I can't believe that the Syrians would go on the offensive against Israel when we have such a huge military presence in Iraq. They would have to either be insane, or believe that we wouldn't get involved.

Depends on a lot of factors. I suspect that this is a bluff. 30 tanks could raise a lot of trouble, but would get messed up quick.

"The IAF would have a field day."

You're absolutely correct.

Israel could take out Syria's entire air force and tank force in one day.

It's just posturing. Even Assad isn't that stupid.

If this report is true, it is not good.

Are you kidding? This is great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now the Israelis won't have to clear the Syrian mines and can roll to Damascus faster. Syrians massing armor only makes it easier for the IAF and the laser targeted anti-tank artillery rounds (copperhead). The Syrians have been burned by these little babies before.
