Thanks? This Olmert character must be lame-duck...maybe when the Israeli's meet on Sunday, they'll s$#t-can the fool.

Olmert makes Bush look like Churchill.

Been listening to the scuttlebutt all day. This was predicted, that Olmert would bend over and grab his ankles.
I can't imagine a "No Confidence Vote" is too far off.

...calls for putting 30,000 Lebanese and U.N. troops along the Israel-Lebanon border, where Hezbollah militants have been fighting against Israel. The UN has no troops, as the AP well knows. They have only what other countries deign to give them. So who will these troops be? Who will be insane enough to put troops in a country to be the buffer between Israel and a terrorist group sworn to destroy her?
I know France is in. Presumably Lebanese troops will join them. How much of a difference their is between Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army I don't know. Any other countries going in?

Let's try that again...

A UN resolution.
A cease fire.
A war halted...
. . . to be continued....

Rice predicted that both governments would accept the agreement. That's nice. I'm sure Hezbollah will earnestly accept and abide by all conditions and restraints placed on them.

Israel was in a no win situation with its military. Destroying and occupying Lebanon should have never been an option. Her people were trying to oust Syria and embrace democracy.
I pray all these predictions for the end of the 'world' are true for August 22, then the Prince of Peace can resolve this mess.

Olmert shouldn't be thanking President Bush, he should be apologizing. Bush played interference as long as he could in order to allow Olmert time to get the job done but Olmert just stalled on using the forces needed and now the battle will have to be won on some other day but it won't be with Olmert.

But Israel has been unable to defeat Hezbollah and was concerned about growing Israeli casualties, as well as international condemnation, if the war continued.Good to see Nedra perpetuating the falsehood that Israel has been unable to defeat the Hizbos.
Maybe Syria and Iran will do something really stupid.
