She had some interesting thoughts, snugs.
She feels the tension in England between the Muslims and the rest of the people. Even those who aren't 'anti-Muslim' are getting fed up with what's been going on there.
She's wondering if there might not be an increase in trouble because even moderate people are sick of what's going on.
If this plot had succeeded, I can't imagine how angry people would be.
What do you think from your perspective?

If this plot had succeeded, I can't imagine how angry people would be.If the plot had succeeded, are there any estimates of the number of people who would have been killed? I've heard that the plotters wanted to take the planes down over large American cities: New York, DC and here in California. That would have added to the death toll, of course.
I've also heard that the wide-bodied aircraft can carry up to 350 passengers plus crew. If they got 10 planes and all 10 were filled (very possible due to vacations), that would be 3500 passengers plus the 10 crews, plus anyone who got hit on the ground. Truly an act of mass murder on an unimaginable scale.

Very similar to hers. Most people today at work were of the opinion we had bought this upon ourselves in allowing so many Muslims in the first place. I think a lot of people would like to get rid of them but of course many are now second generation British born and bred but not British in their outlook or allegiance.
It is very interesting to notice that quite a lot of people have left up flags from the recent world cup and in fact we still have the St George's flag draped over our stores at work.
There is definitely a resurgence of British or English patriotism that I have not seen before in my lifetime. We are usually very good at putting ourselves down and criticizing and thinking of others as better but more and more I see ordinary Brits (English) wanting to be British/English and be proud of it.
