I believe it's iodine. We were given the option since I live near a poer plant. Never did pick it up. Maybe I'll change my mind.

I'd heard we needed a prescription too; it's used to protect against cancer in the event of a nuclear attack. IIRC from years back .. anyone living within a 10-mile radius (at least in PA)of nuclear facilities could get free potassium iodide (KI) tablets
I remember reading about this because I'm living in the 10-mile radius .. though I never did pick them up
