Exactly. In a way I'm glad the plot was broken up in London and not here. If it happened here the first reaction of the left wing nuts would be to blame Bush and that it was a conspiracy because of the upcoming elections.

Almost sounds like the planes were going to explode OVER USA territory which means hitting cities in addition to the planes themselves.

Originally said the 6 students were watchers (computer geeks, media watchers etc).....the 11 "lost" ones were workers....and there were a couple of more...the brains of the operation which have been here for a while.

I now think the 11 dispersed to various cities that would be targeted....as photographers and relay information folks.

Remember, these folks just love tapes!!

By apparently constraining Israel in their fight against the Hezzie terrorists, and pushing for a settlement short of military victory, isn't the US acting somewhat as an anti-terror critic, and putting Israel's national security at great risk?

I know that there are differences, but fundamentally is the call for a cease-fire in Lebanon any different than Surrender Jack Murtha's call for immediate Iraq pullouts?

Waking up in New York this morning and watching the local news, one would have no idea this was going on. The local stations are too busy talking about the weather and ice cooler...not one blurb about this as of the time I left to go to work at 6:10AM. Well, who cares...just because all those Egyptian students from JFK are nowhere to be found still...nothing to worry about!!! I hope they are watching the bridges, tunnels and subways in New York today!!!!

Just read at Ace of Spades that the plan was to blow up the planes OVER MAJOR AMERICAN CITIES as the planes descended for landing.

That would explain the nugget that this was planned to be bigger than 9/11.

Local news here in Cleveland is all over this...reporters are at Hopkins airport reporting about the extended security lines and telling passengers coming to the airport to be prepared to not carry on any liquids and be prepared to be asked to check all baggage if possible to 'speed up security lines'.
