We expect people to use their good judgement and those who obviously expose their lack of judgement are bound to get "nudged" a bit.
I can understand that and that's fine with me. Agreed.
But to have a free wheeling diverse thread that's mostly all over the place and then to start carping largely because of bias and taste that SOME free wheeling comments are beyond the pale
strikes me as EXCEEDINGLY SELFISH, ARBITRARY and arrogant.
This is a light thread because everyone has been under such tremendous pressure lately and for some to come on a thread that is over 500 posts long and attempt to throw cold water on the thread is downright rude and inconsiderate.

I suppose the explanation about why this is a light thread is quite valid.
Then the assertion is that those of my perspective sort of assaultively descended on the thread and were spoilsports.
HOGWASH.
We were there from the earliest postings. We could JUST AS LOGICALLY call the jokesters the spoilsports.
That's my point.
But what's the big problem with all the adults focusing on those parts of the thread of interest and sympathy to and with them and ignoring the rest of this free wheeling thread? Why is that persistently SUCH a problem?
Mystifying.
There have been dozens of end times threads and if they are serious, then most Freepers back out if they're not interested in furthering the conversation. It's a question of manners.

HOW I WISH THAT WERE TRUE.
Roughly the same or a similar group will what--75-95% of the time descend on virtually
EVERY END TIMES THREAD and trash every serious poster they can in virtually every personally assaultive and intellectually assaultive way they can. And IF a serious Christian poster responds with the least bit of spunk and pointedness, then said group of thread hijackers is lightening fast toward pushing the abuse button and getting as many Evangelical Christians banned as they can get away with.
I'm just having a very hard time mustering a lot of sympatny for the duplicitous crew that so habitually does that and then whines to the max whenever someone does something on a thread that they don't like--EVEN WHEN the thread is enormously free wheeling and all over the place.
And not a single one of said crew has the maturity, the intellectual fairness or the testicles to admit any such.
Don't bother reasoning with lunatics. This wingnut took a typically lame Moose-limb prophesy to heart and decided to use that as an excuse to jam his own particular brand of religion down our throats.
