It is not a waste of money for TV time. Most people get their news from television. Who on our side will raise millions of dollars for ads? Soros is prepared to raise and spend huge sums of money. His effect on politics is not a good development for this nation.

" Most people get their news from television"

Network news is now down to just about 30 million viewers a night (out of a population of 300 million), down from close to 60 million 30 years ago.
And that is a population that is much higher than it was before.
If network TV news had anywhere near the power they used to have before, President Bush would have lost in 2004.
They don't.

Thanks, Doug. That's exactly the point. The reason the Swifties got such traction was due to the ads they ran against Kerry on '04. Prior to those ads, they had little if any traction. Meaning their efforts were not getting into the living rooms of those who needed to hear their message. THEY HAD TO BUY THE AIR TIME THEMSELVES. AND SO DOES BOOT MURTHA / VETS FOR THE TRUTH.

It is not enough to make waves through the Internet. Politics is still 'fought' through messages in the newspapers, on the radio and on tv. Internet is used to stir up the troops (preach to the choir) BUT IT DOES NOT REACH THE ACTUAL VOTERS IN ANY LARGE DEGREE.

Main stream media knows this. That is why they will not print or air our message.... only the liberals' gets air time.

I do not mean to be unduly harsh here. But crass as it is, money is needed in large amounts to counter what MoveOn.Org is going to do.

Doug and Linda:

Move America Forward is running ads in the MSM. They ran on Fox News and are planning on putting them on CNN and other stations also. They may have already started.

From an Email from Melanie Morgan July 31:

*SPECIAL NOTE: This is the week we go back on the air with our "America Says Thank You" tv ad that honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and notes the progress they have made in the war on terrorism.

Now is NOT the time to back down from the threat posed from militant terrorists who seek to bring death and destruction to the people of the West.

Now is NOT the time to withdraw support for our troops and the dangerous missions that stand before them. And you can watch the "America Says Thank You" TV ad here: Here

So far this ad has been seen by millions of Americans over the television airwaves and has been viewed online more than 50,000 times!

Let's keep spreading the word to more and more people.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely Yours,

Melanie Morgan Chairman, Move America Forward

Linda Eddy, good post:

And this one:

Think it through: It's not about getting on the network news, it's about buying airtime during heavily watched shows... You go where the viewers are. Simple. But expensive.
