Thanks, Doug. That's exactly the point. The reason the Swifties got such traction was due to the ads they ran against Kerry on '04. Prior to those ads, they had little if any traction. Meaning their efforts were not getting into the living rooms of those who needed to hear their message. THEY HAD TO BUY THE AIR TIME THEMSELVES. AND SO DOES BOOT MURTHA / VETS FOR THE TRUTH.
It is not enough to make waves through the Internet. Politics is still 'fought' through messages in the newspapers, on the radio and on tv. Internet is used to stir up the troops (preach to the choir) BUT IT DOES NOT REACH THE ACTUAL VOTERS IN ANY LARGE DEGREE.
Main stream media knows this. That is why they will not print or air our message.... only the liberals' gets air time.
I do not mean to be unduly harsh here. But crass as it is, money is needed in large amounts to counter what MoveOn.Org is going to do.
I donated again the other day! Haven't received word if it was received.
Well, seeing how "successful" Moveon.org has been over the last election cycles, I would think it means little.
I agree Irey and her support teams need lotsa cash. That is a reality of politics, regardless of your opponent. But having Moveon.org and Code Pink and Michael Moore supporting Murtha is a HUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGEEEEEE advantage for Irey.
"I do not mean to be unduly harsh here."
oops! Neither did I. :) I merely meant that when one has a limited amount of funds to spend, said funds should be spent in a manner that will provide the widest exposure for the amount spent. :)
As for Moveon? Please, please, spend your monies on an ad that will fly in CA, but will be deemed "offensive" by local mores and values. ;)
