A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 8.8.06

There are no new pictures of the President or First Lady today, since they are spending some time together at Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas, but we know full well that there are no 'vacations' for this President, and that he is hard at work protecting America from danger.

So.......since there are no new photos, I'm posting several of my favorite ranch pictures just for fun, and will give my report on my husband's and my personal encounter with the President last week, and will post the photos taken from our very own camera.

Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on this slow August Daily Dose!

" (he knew we might see his Commander in Chief, but didn't know anything about what we had done), and when we said we got his signature, and asked if he would like to see it, and he said yes, we handed it to him (already framed), and his eyes welled with tears. After a moment, he kiddingly said, "When you see him again, tell him 'you're welcome'." We of course, plan to do that! :)"

So sweet, this part!
Thanks for your post re: this night &
special event!

You're welcome, Carolina.

It was fun for us to put our heads together and try to remember everything he said.

(We came close!)

WOW....awsome!!!

You know if I could have one such experience I would go to my grave content.

I really never thought we would see another President with the caliber of character that Lincoln had, but honestly, I think we have one now.

I really mean that, Luvya. As a Christian, you can just sense the Lord at work in him.

You know how that is??

That first pic is one of the best ever taken of our Godly President, barker.

You're right..........you can see inside his very soul.

Hi OWF. Great dose. Thanks. I love ranch pics.

Don't know if this made an appearance on the dose yet, but it's a relatively new photo of Barney on the South Lawn.

Barney looks a bit skeptically at a "Flat Stanley" cut-out placed next to him on the South Lawn of the White House, Thursday, July 20, 2006.

I feel SO blessed to have been able to have this experience, and could hardly wait to share it with my dear friends here on the Dose.

I had sandals on, but they were too new, and my feet were KILLING me!

I seriously kept looking at that podium, and it kept me going!

It wasn't very light in there, so my shutter speed was veeerrry slow. I was thrilled when I saw how clear the photos were.

I think they really capture his expressions, and there were only two that I didn't post because his eyes were closed.

Oh.........and about the pool. Remember that he gave in to the girls and had a pool put in that he dubbed the 'whining pool?'

I'm sure he swims there, and not in the fish pond! :)

He was so careful to spell Eric's name right, and he was so clearly thankful that he served.

I still can't believe the whole thing really happened.........but then I see the pictures on MY camera! :)
